Wow! My stay in Frankfurt, Germany flood my memories as I reflect on my time serving with the U.S. Army's 21st Replacement Battalion at this historic site. Gutleutkaserne was my first military overseas duty station. I was a young soldier responsible for interviewing incoming American troops for further reassignment throughout Germany, Greece, Belgium and Turkey.
I lived on the Gutleutkaserne compound in the barrack's. Life was good during my 27 months on station. Frankfurt is a beautiful city with much to do and terrific sites to visit. The German people were kind, helpful and tolerant. I will always remember those days with much love and admiration for the German people and their willingness to make my stay a most memorable time in my military career.
