Osteria L'isola Sarda — Restaurant in Frankfurt

1. Main problem : The description in the menu does not match the actual dish and when feedback was provided, chef came out to argue. Medaillon is actually meat pounded thin and knusprige lammbraten is actually geschmortes lamm but his argument is that this is the italian way. We really think the menu description in german should be changed. Although he did not charge us for the medaillon dish - his entire respond to our feedback was just arrogant. He said we should know from the price we are paying and he is a chef for 12 years without any complaints.
2. Service staff was not organised and recommendation of their highlights was done by reading through the entire page 15min after we received the menu. It took us so long to finish dinner - 3 courses starting about 18:30hrs to 21:30hrs. Was a really disappointing dinner - no wonder this restaurant always looks empty. If we could, we would not even allocate a single star out...

We went there because we wanted to try some new restaurants in the area and the reviews were good.

No doubt, the food was very nice. Sardinia gives a little extra touch to the Italian cuisine.

Why three stars then? Although the restaurant was almost empty everything took super long from being able to order to being served. The waiters were not unpolite but there wasn't a really nice atmosphere like in a lot of other simiöar restaurants around here like Nr. 16. Minus 1 star for this.

Additionally the prices were insane including more than 8€ for a bottle of water and 10€ for a starter made of bread and cheese. After spending quite some money there we didn't even get offered one of the typical complimentary digestifs. Minus another star.

I prezzi variano da €30 a €50 per persona, a seconda delle scelte. Considerando la qualità degli ingredienti, la preparazione dei piatti e l’atmosfera, il rapporto qualità-prezzo è considerato eccellente .

Il ristorante è facilmente raggiungibile con i mezzi pubblici, trovandosi a circa 676 metri dalla stazione U-Bahn Glauburgstraße .
