Unkai - Asian Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Freiburg im Breisgau

Spent over an hour and a half waiting for food that never came. The beer and cocktails we ordered were fine, but after 45 minutes the drinks were long gone and no one had given us a second glance. We flagged wait staff down and asked if we could see the menu again so we could choose another round of drinks. It was at least 20 minutes before those drinks showed up. We tried to confirm that they’d gotten our order, but they simply repeated back what we said and left.

Eventually we’d spent more than 90 minutes since first ordering our food, our second round of drinks were long gone, and everyone who came in after us was eating, so we gave up. We had to flag a waiter down for the check and then tell him what we’d had. There was no mention of our sushi at all, and I honestly don’t think they would’ve noticed if we’d just left.

I’m not sure what happened here, since everyone else got their orders. But the drinks weren’t nearly good enough to warrant sinking that kind of...

Absolutely worth it! One of the best sushi spots in Freiburg.

Unkai offers a great all-you-can-eat sushi experience with fresh ingredients, quick service, and a really nice atmosphere. The quality is way above what you’d expect for all-you-can-eat .the fish is fresh, the rice is perfectly seasoned, and everything is made to order. You can really taste the difference!

The staff is friendly, attentive, and super fast with bringing out the orders. It’s not a buffet ,you order from a tablet, and the food is freshly prepared and brought to your table. I loved that!

Just a heads-up: drinks are not included in the price, but they have a good selection. They also offer other specials on the menu,which are definitely worth trying too.

We've been here five times now and will continue to keep coming back. Really enjoy the concept of all you can eat sushi. It allows you to try everything.

The quality of the fish is good, you can really tell by the taste of the salmon avocado hand roll. Some of our other favourites are the tuna nigiri, custard bun, and green tea and lychee ice cream.

We wouldn't recommend the crunchy gold roll or any of the rolls that are deep fried around. They didn't taste much like anything and were pretty heavy. I also wouldn't go to heavy on the side dishes since they fill you up a lot.

Unfortunately the drinks we got (yuzu gin cocktail and mango coconut drink) were quite pricey at 10€ each. Would not get it again.
