Kaisers Gute Backstube "die kaiserin" am Güterbahnhof — Restaurant in Freiburg im Breisgau

There were only two staff behind the counter. A female staff was attending a customer so I went to the male one, whom I assumed could help. Ordered a bread, he obliged unhappily. Ordered coffee, he told me to order it to his colleague, because she was in charge of drinks. Then I needed something else than drink, but before I could finish what I wanted to say, he hushed me to quickly move away to that female staff. RUDE. But whatever.

That guy again anyhow came behind the drink counter, so I was attended by this flop. Paid and expected my change, he was "somehow forgot" how much I paid so he didn't give me any change (about 10€), Anyhow, it was settled. Slightly thought of almost got scammed though, but I shook it off.

Yet again, just before I left, I saw that rude guy kept saying NO to a smiling old lady who asked for a specific bread. He rudely insisted "dies ist die gleiche". Well, if it was the same, why don't you just give it to the old woman, you thug?! It was like a back and forth insist between the two, it was so painful to see.

I wasn't expecting all smiles holy jolly happy staff, but today was next level (on the floor low level, if that makes sense). And because that incident with the old lady was very bothersome, I will have no peace if I don't review it.

At first glance, this place appears promising—but the reality is quite the opposite. The staff, that work or possibly own the establishment, are anything but friendly or customer-oriented.

My food was not heated as requested, and when I politely asked for an extra plate and fork, the response was hostility. One of the men actually got angry with me for making a simple request.

The food and cakes at Kaiserin are simply fresh and delicious, I am a frequent visitor since it's oppening of the one that is Infront Jet Tankstelle, we usually have Sundays breakfast and bought our daily bread and sweets there.
