Well, where should I start... I had some expectations before going here. Allthough being in Görlitz one should not expect any gastronomic highlights. Since Enzo left Da Vinci I am having difficulties to find a good pizza in Görlitz. The best so far is the pizza Place that have a Close to "real" Wood fired pizza oven.
Anyway, the pizzeria Bravo Italiano have a small industrial pizza oven ( probably With stone bottom ) and it seems to be 2 hatches. The pizza crust is a bit crispy, but too thick. The pizza sauce, well thats the biggest disapointed and probably the main reason they can sell at a reasonable price. However if they made a pizza With REAL good crust and REAL good sauce which are the 2 main Things to get a pizza right it would be Worth DOUBLE what they currently charge and I believe Germans concerned about quality would pay more if the owner aimed higher. Owner/pizzaiolo standing in front of entrance smoking together With customers also didnt make a good impression. The ingredients on the pizza could be better as well. I give a plus for tasty fresh basil!
Still, even though the pizza oven isnt the Wood fired one, but a small one it is possible to make great pizza if they just made an effort. Spend MUCH time making the dough elastic.. Work With the dough 1 hour before putting it to rest. Spend some days creating a REAL good pizza sauce, use mutti tomatoes as a base and add some flavour. do smoke while at work if you need, but not in front of the restaurant and wash Your hands afterwards.
There are plenty of pizzerias in Görlitz as Germans are crazy about Italian Food, but so far this town must be desperate to have a REAL good pizzeria. Görlitz is big enough to support a good pizzeria which might charge a few euros more than the others. It cant be only about price in Germany even though they are extremely price concerned ?
Please Bravo Italiano, can you listen to my kind advises ? I will be back in spring and I am willing to try again.
I gave 2 stars instead on 1 because the Place have potential and the owner is very friendly. If there are some Germans out there willing to invest, then og talk With Bravo Italiano, this Place can become the #1 Italian Place in the region With some changes and perhaps a little...
Read moreGood price, but still a bit more expensive than pizzeria in Annengasse near Demianplatz and a bit less tasty, bit it can be just my taste. This pizza is a bit more thick (which is also fine). On the other hand the beverages are here a bit cheaper then in the other pizzeria. And you can sit here in the pedestrian zone in the street under trees (beware of random wasps in the late summer and early autumn). I would not prefer it, but I would come here, if I would be in the vicinity and would not want...
