St. John Patrician House is a charming, historically-rich restaurant nestled in the heart of Görlitz. Despite not having a reservation, we were warmly welcomed by the staff. They were accommodating and made us feel comfortable right away. The food was generally quite good. The menu offered a variety of dishes with some local flair. While the flavors were bold and well-executed, we found a few dishes to be a little saltier than we personally prefer. That said, it was still flavorful and enjoyable.

Ich habe eine Reservierung für eine größere Gruppe (ca. 45 Personen) telefonisch ca. 6-7 Monate vor Termin getätigt. Ich war auch noch mal persönlich vor Ort und habe erste Fragen bzgl. Preis/Pers. f. das Buffet geklärt. Da hieß das ich ab 25 €/Pers. mindestens rechnen muss. Dann rückte der Termin näher, dann erneute tel. Rücksprache um weitere Details zu klären - sollte meine Fragen/Vorstellungen (Anzahl Personen/Budget/etc.) per Mail zusenden. Gesagt getan, jedoch keine Reaktion, nach einer zweiten Mail kam dann wie aus heiterem Himmel eine Absage. Ich habe umgehend angerufen und nachgehakt warum ich nun eine Absage trotz Reservierung erhalten habe. Zuerst kamen fadenscheinige Bemerkungen, meine Budgetvorstellung sei zu niedrig, obwohl mir dieses Budget so genannt wurde. Letztendlich kam heraus, das an diesem Tag eine Hochzeitsgesellschaft den Saal buchen wollte - da war mir sofort klar, dass sowas natürlich mehr Kohle bringt. So kurzfristig eine so große Gruppe woanders unterzubekommen ist immer eine Herausforderung. Aber zum Glück gibt es in Görlitz noch ein paar vertrauenswürdigere Gaststätten (z.b. DaVinci), wo ich so eine große Truppe kurzfristig unterbringen konnte. Hätte ich umgekehrt so kurzfristig die Buchung abgesagt, so schnell hätt ich wahrscheinlich nicht gucken können, dann wäre die Schadensforderung da. Diese Gaststätte sieht...

Great atmosphere no doubt about this. The food is great... but very difficult to have food without garlic. All dishes have some. So if you don't eat garlic like me, you are in a pickle.
