VAPIANO Göttingen Weender Landstraße — Restaurant in Göttingen

THEY EARN (!) MONEY THANKS TO EURO 2024 WITHOUT GIVING ANY RECEIPT! On the 26th of June, Vapiano in Göttingen displayed the CZE-TUR football match streamed on the public channel ARD. I stopped by to see my friends, who had already ordered their food and drinks. Since I had just finished a workout, I didn't want to consume any sugary drinks or food and didn't order anything. When the first half ended, I tried to leave, but the employees wouldn't let me. When they realized I didn't speak German well, AN EMPLOYEE AT THE DOOR YELLED ME AND TREATED ME VERY POORLY, HUMILIATING ME IN FRONT OF THE CROWD. I asked my friends if I needed to pay to watch the match (which I left during the half time), and they said there was no such thing. Despite explaining to the cashier that I hadn't eaten or drunk anything, SHE INSISTED I HAD TO PAY 5 EUROS. The match was on a public channel, so this made no sense, but THEY FORCED ME TO PAY AND ONLY GAVE ME A PIECE OF PAPER WITH "BEZAHLT" WRITTEN ON IT, REFUSING TO PROVIDE A PROPER RECEIPT. As I left, I told the man at the door that his behavior was rude and unacceptable. HE YELLED AT ME AGAIN. I got really angry knowing THEY GAINED MONEY FROM ME THAT...

I entered for 10 minutes to say goodbye to my friends before traveling to Munich. When I went out, the security guy stopped me and asked for a card. I said that I didn't get any card there. The manager approached us who kept asking for the card in German. I had to call my friends, who assured them that I didn't eat or drink anything there but they didn't let me out. Even showing them in the DB app that my train is leaving in 15 mins didn't help (apparently they didn't care if I would miss my 500 km journey because of them). The waitress also joined asking for the card and if I ate something there. Finally, after a big argument with me and my friends they let me out and I had to run to the train station. I hope that at the end of the day, they checked their security cameras or just counted their cards and got convinced that I didn't steal their piece of ... plastic and...

Inzwischen leider auch nur noch unfreundliche Mitarbeiter, die keine Lust haben einen zu verstehen, wenn msn nicht arabisch spricht.

Ich dachte immer "Ich bin zu alt für diesen Sch*" . Aber ich bin froh, dass ich mich überreden ließ. Da in Göttingen eh niemand richtig "Service kann", ist es eigentlich ein Segen, dass man im Vapiano selbst dafür sorgt, dass alles richtig läuft. Dafür bekommt man:

♦Ein verdammt freundliches und entspanntes Team, das vor den Augen des Kunden Speisen und Getränke bereitet. ♦Sehr kurze Wartezeiten ♦Einen aufgeräumten Gastraum ♦faire Preise ♦Leckeres authentisches Essen

Die gemütliche und geräumige Terrasse kann man schnell mit seinem neuen Wohnzimmer verwechseln, wenn man nicht aufpasst. Während der WM (vllt auch sonst? 'war vorher nicht dort) steht hier eine große Leinwand von hoher Qualität. Auch wenn die Sonne direkt drauf scheint, erkennt man bei den übertragenen Spielen die einzelnen Schauspieler ohne Probleme.

Zudem ist während der spiele eine kleine "Bar" auf der Terrasse aufgebaut, sodass man nicht für jedes Getränk rein laufen muss. Scheinbar wird dann draußen sogar "echter Service" geboten. Man kann also an seiner rustikalen Bank oder auf einem der gemütlichen Sofas sitzen bleiben und sich sein Bierchen bringen lassen. Perfekt gelöst!

Einzig, dass die Bänke zum Essen schlecht für kleinere Gruppen oder Einzelpersonen/Duos geeignet ist, könnte etwas "nerven". Man muss sich halt ggf mit anderen Gästen arrangieren. Aber passt auch irgendwie zum gemütlichen "Vapiano!" Thema.

Nochmal ein Lob an das Team. Man wird an jeder Station freundlich begrüßt, sodass man denkt, man ist gar nicht mehr im gastronomischen Göttingen. Es hat immer jemand ein Auge auf die Tische, sodass nie etwas lange stehen bleibt. Getränke und Essen werden zügig und ordentlich zubereitet.
