This fancy restaurant seems a bit misplaced here since the town is more casual but I'm glad it's here. Even though reservations are recommended, we were able to walk in on a Friday afternoon without one. It serves Halal food, should you be looking for one, with a variety of Arabic, Indian and Pakistani dishes. The restaurant is owned by a Pakistani, with chefs from all across south Asia, the food is elite on its own offering taste buds something to relish. We dis order for a Kashmiri Lamb Biryani and some bread with a chicken butter masala. Both dishes were served hot without keeping us waiting for long. Though one might think Indian dishes to carry a lot of spice and brew hot chilli, the dishes were mild enough that our two year old could savour them with no problem. Service was surprisingly great! Let's be honest, German restaurants aren't known to have good service. A smile let alone a kind voice is rare here... But at this place, I truly felt like I was dining at the Ritz Carlton! Give it a try... the dishes might seem to be overpriced, but for the kind of service and ambience with Halal food I might...
Read moreI think this is the only "ethnic" restaurant in town. So if that's what you're craving then come here, as your choices are limited. Otherwise, try something else.
It's a "pan-Asian" restaurant, with almost every country in Asia represented, but it leans more towards Indian and Middle Eastern overall.
I rated this on a curve since we're not in a country known for its Asian food, and even still, it falls short. The food is below average and some of the dishes don't even pass close to the dish they're modeled after with some off flavors. The only dish that was decent were the fired spring rolls.
We also found that the staff were unstinting and a bit rude. Their responses were curt and when asked a question, our waitress had an attitude and acted like we were asking a stupid question. The only good thing was that when we returned a bad dish, they were kind enough to take it off our bill.
TL;DR - If you're really craving Asian flavors and can't wait until you're in a bigger town, then eat here. Otherwise, you're better off holding out for...
Read moreI don’t usually post reviews. However, this experience made me do it. The racism against tourists was clear from the get go. As soon as it’s clear to them that your not german, expect the worst service of your life. She kept saying “in germany we don’t do this… in germany we don’t say that…. 🙄” Like honey?? In the rest of the world we have manners… you don’t have in germany ?
Food was non to little quality… We ordered chicken masala, chicken magbos, shrim beryani, one salad (I forgot the name), Lentil soup and chicken takka. So we had a variety to make a judgment.
I don’t know about the morning shift, but the afternoon shift had only one server and the poor thing had to juggle the whole place. The “no manners, racist” manger was no help whatsoever. I pity anyone who stumbles there without checking the reviews of the...
