Not respectful to tourists!

Given the great reviews, we were excited to eat at this restaurant. However, it was the worst dining experience in our trip to Germany.

First, when we asked if they had pasta, the waiter said "this restaurant is for pork and beef, go to Italian restaurant for pasta". He could just respectfully said no and offered alternatives.

Unfortunately, we didn't have much choices as it was Sunday at 4pm. Most restaurant were not open and our kid is hungry.

Then, we got the fish fillet since our kid likes fish. The fillet was full of bones! See the picture. We complained. The manager rudely said "this is normal ... If you want it for your kid, then make sure to get all bones out". However, we've eaten trout fish many times in Germany and know that this is not normal. After we stood our ground, he offered to change the dish, but said "he won't sell us fish". Again, it was Sunday and not much choices. We kept the dish and picked out the bones, so our kid can eat.

Finally, after showing them all the bones, they persisted with their unrespecful attitude and made no acknowledgement.

Very unpleasant experience...

Great views, average food, terrible service: I have been at Fischer‘s Mohrenplatz several times, and one goes there for the location more than other thing. Last weekend, a friend decided to reserve a table to have dinner after hiking for 4 people. Two of us arrived there on time, and warned the waiter the other two were arriving 10 min later, so we ordered drinks. What came down after that was something I’ve never experienced before. After he comes back, and decides to deny our drinks, as it’s dinner time, we try to argue with him, that we are going to order dinner, even for the other two if that’s the problem. This waiter, the rudest I‘ve ever encountered, does not only denies us an explanation, he doesn’t accept any compensation and leaves the table without taking any order. After 15 minutes waiting there, he comes back, we asked him again and he tells us, as rudely as before, that we are not going to be attended whatsoever. All of this, because apparently we had to order dinner, what we offered, even for 4! That was a terrible offense, apparently. But having us siting next to an empty table for 20 min, apparently...

One of the best schnitzels I've had in a while! We got lucky on a Saturday night without a reservation as most restaurants in the area were fully booked, Fischer's had a single hightop available for us. We squeezed in and ordered a couple of drinks to start. I recommend the Alt Münchner Dunkel. Then for our mains, my date got the Zanderfilet (fish) and I of course went with the Schnitzel (veal) which was cooked to perfection. So crispy, yet so delicate! My side of roasted potatoes were tasty as well, though I preferred my dates vinegar-based potato salad side, which was creamier than typical. Naturally as soon as I spotted Kaiserschmarrn on the menu, we asked the waiter for dessert. My date was stuffed so I ate the whole portion myself, which I'm not embarrassed about because dang was it fantastic! I almost wanted to order another one if I weren't about to burst at the seams. Instead, we got the check from our delightful waiter and headed to the Winterzauber out front, which is actually part of the restaurant! Overall, wonderful, friendly service, delicious traditional Bavarian dishes, and a very cozy vibe. Pro-tip: make a...

We took the 1:10pm Eibsee Bus back to Marienplatz Gapa. Strolling around the area, we were looking for a restaurant that has a view of Alpspitze – probably our favourite peak in Gapa due to its iconic slanted and pointy peak. After walking around and verifying the view points, we eventually settled on Fischer’s Mohrenplatz restaurant. We love it that there was a perfect view of Alpspitze while enjoyed our lunch this afternoon. Somehow, Tom ordered the Pork Knuckle again (19.50euros) and we had the Paulaner Hell and Weissbier (5.60euros). In total, we paid 35 euros inclusive of tips because we had one of the best seated vantage points in the restaurant. The pork knuckle was a tad bit smaller than Augustiner Keller but Kate enjoyed the sweet crunchy bits that accompanied it – making it unique. During the meal, we were thankful to have this opportunity just to chat and enjoy the views of Alpspitze while basking in the sun that kept us warm outdoors...
