Called and got a reservation on the same day, upon arrival my wife and I were charmed by how cozy the place is. We had a table on a corner which was perfect for us. The staff greeted and sat us down quickly. The waitress spoke great English and was super helpful, especially since we asked a million questions about the menu. For the food, my wife ordered the potato soup, which btw it was one of the best potato soup's I have ever had in my life. For the main course I ordered the pork knuckle and let me tell you, that was the crunchiest pork skin ever and the sauce that they served the pork on is to die for. My wife ordered the marinated sheep cheese salad and for a person that doesn't eat alot of salad, when I tasted her's...I was blown away. The different layers of flavors within the salad were mind blowing. To wrap this up, for the love of God, if you are in Garmisch, please do yourself a favor and get a reservation at this place. You will not be sorry.

Perfectly Bavarian! The food was excellent. The inside is super cozy and the biergarten is nice. The deer sausage is incredible. The potato salad and mixed salad are equally as good. They have a nice selection of beer, wine, and schnapps. The apfelstrudel was also very good. We took a chance on a weekend night without having a reservation. Luckily there was only two of us and we were able to be sat at a large table with another group who had a reservation. I would highly recommend making a reservation, especially for a larger group. The service was really excellent. They brought water and even dog treats for our dog. We liked the food so much that we came back for lunch the next day!

We really like this place. I went with my son and his friend. We had the opportunity to go to any restaurant, but we chose this out of the whole city. We were happy that we did so. The food was amazing especially when you come in from a long day of being out in the cold. Perfect actually. Lots of meat dishes but also some vegetarian options. And then it was all rounded out when there was a band marching in all dressed. Full on Austrian / Southern German madness. We loved it. Never seen anything like it in a restaurant. For sure an experience. I don’t think the band was part of the restaurant but who knows maybe they’ll come back again :-)

We visited about 4pm and the restaurant is still busy. I’m grateful they offered us a waitlist option, as the group behind us was turned away due to the restaurant being busy. While I typically don’t mind outdoor seating, the presence of flies made it less enjoyable. Although the waiters are kind, the service was slow throughout our visit, from receiving the menu to being served and paying the bill. The spätzle I ordered was tasty, but I’ll recommended to order something different unless you weren't hungry as the portion isn't big.

This was a highly recommended place to eat from a friend that had been before. It was fantastic choice. Highly recommend that you book a table in advance because space is limited. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great also. Their was a limited choice of draft beers however, the available 2 were delicious. Anyone visiting should know the potato soup and pork knuckle are the most popular. Also if you are a small family that likes to share a meal the pork knuckle is more that enough for 2. 5 stars from me.

Such a terrific Bavarian restaurant - one of the best anywhere. The location is low-ceilinged, and cozy, with lovely nooks cut out for intimate group meals. Every dish and side we tried were fantastic - fish grilled to perfection, pork schnitzel stuffed with juicy bacon and mustard, roast onion steak... even the Flammkuchen was beautifully crispy with fresh ingredients on top. Service was very friendly, and the views of the mountains from the back tables are perfect for a sunset meal. Would come again with the family anytime.
