Saigon 10 — Restaurant in Gemeindeverwaltungsverband Metzingen

Came here the other day for lunch when shopping at metzingen. CASH ONLY

Walked in a circle almost twice trying to find it and finally saw the flag. The place is pretty small like an imbiss. There are high chairs in case you want to eat there. The “table” shelf against the wall is positioned so high, that when you sit in the “high chair” you can literally shovel the food into your mouth. The couple next to us ended up standing to eat as the chair heights were very inconvenient.

The menus are only the take away flyer menus, and the drinks are what you see in the fridge. They also have specialty shakes available.

The staff is very friendly.

The food was presented nicely, but was lacking a bit of flavor. The sushi rice for example tasted only like cooked rice with nothing inside like rice vinegar, sugar, salt. The same applies for the seaweed salad - I assume lack of rice vinegar also affected the taste. I know there is a rice vinegar shortage at the moment as I also have not been able to find big bottles during quarantine.

Anyway, the prices are fair and the food is still good, but it is more of a takeaway imbiss than a sit...

The place is really tiny and the service is a bit slow and they gave our order to another person and we waited for extra time and they didn’t even apologize and we asked them a lot of times for soya sauce and they finally brought one that was only enough for a kid then we had to take it from the next table. The sushi is ok and has its own flavor and the rolls is literally the smallest so honestly it’s pricey regarding the portions. The only normal roll was the fried...

Einfach super. Ich bin vor einer Weile aus einem anderen Bundesland nach Reutlingen gezogen und musste leider meinen lieblings Sushi-Anbieter hinter mir lassen. Nach dem Ausprobieren einiger Anbieter in der Region kann ich klar sagen, dass Saigon 10 der beste Ersatz ist.

Das Sushi selbst schmeckt fantastisch und hat einen sehr fairen Preis. Aber das Highlight sind ganz klar die Soßen. Viele Menschen, die noch nie eine wirklich gute Soße zum Sushi hatten, wissen garnicht was sie bei Sojasauce aus der Tüte an Potenzial verpassen. Die selbstgemachten Soßen sind hier das absolute Nonplusultra.

Die Bestellung über WhatsApp hat gut und pünktlich funktioniert, dennoch würde ich mir eine Lieferando Implementierung wünschen. Auch der Mindestbestellwert von 30€ außerhalb von Metzingen ist happig, aber wenn man für eine ganze Gruppe bestellt kein Problem. Zudem war die Sommerrolle nix für mich, und ich würde mir zusätzliche Optionen, wie Kingrolls wünschen. Alles in allem trotzdem 5/5, da es einfach der beste Platz für Sushi in der Region ist. Klare Empfehlung!
