Bar Oorlam — Restaurant in Hamburg

Bar Oorlam is mainly focused on their own beers and thus the tap list does not change very much, which is unfortunate. Nevertheless some good beers are waiting to be tasted. The interior takes some getting used to but is overall cozy. If you are a craft beer lover this bar is a must visit, but it has limited use for regulars, who want to experience different beers.

Edit: I had multiple occasions when I was here and the beers had a unwanted wild taste even if bottles of the same beer tasted fine, this led to a lot of money spent in beers that just tasted sour if even they were not supposed to taste sour. The response to my critique was rude and had to pay beers, that had clearly gone bad, anyways, despite not...

During my short stay in Hamburg, during which I had no more than 10 hours to explore the city, I stumbled upon this inconspicuous-looking bar as I briskly walked from Hafen City to Reeperbahn. The place is small and cozy. There are a few tables at one's disposal, a couple of sofas, spots both in view and kinda hidden. A large selection of draft and bottled beer, additionally there is merch with beer, wine, and other alcohols. I drank a light pilsner, 3.9%, very good. I didn't spend much time in Hamburg, but during my wanderings, looking for a place to have a beer, the thought that I liked this place the most and would gladly return kept...

What a gem of a place. The NEIPA and DIPA and the Barrel aged Stout and Barrel aged Barley wine were superb. Found this place from Untapped. We had 4 hours to kill before our flight home so hopped on a train into Hamburg and walked 20 mins. Bot was it worth it. As well as the above drinks we also had some cheese, Cured Sausage and bread. I could not recommend this place strong enough. He was even playing Madness One-step Beyond...
