My recent visit to Boothaus Hafencity left much to be desired, primarily due to significant service issues that overshadowed an otherwise mediocre meal. To start, I ordered a mocktail but was mistakenly served an alcoholic drink. While the waiter apologized when I pointed this out, and the drink was rectified, no compensation was initially offered. It wasn't until I specifically requested it when the bill arrived that any form of compensation was provided. We also noticed that our server gave a detailed "knife talk" to all other tables, explaining the different steak knives available. However, when our food was served, we were simply given a generic knife and it was just placed on the table, with no explanation whatsoever. Later, our side dishes were also brought out incorrectly, requiring another correction. Finally, when we were ready to pay, the same server spent a good ten minutes chatting with another table, completely ignoring us and another table that was also patiently waiting to settle their bill. These repeated errors in service and a clear lack of attention really detracted from the evening. As for the food, it was just "alright." The steak was nothing special, and I've certainly had better elsewhere. The sides were also uninspiring and didn't elevate the meal in any way. Overall, while the food was acceptable, the poor service was the main issue. The lack of proactive compensation for their mistakes, the unprofessional demeanor of our server, the noticeable disparity in service between our table and others, and the extended wait to pay were particularly frustrating. I wouldn't recommend based on this experience.

Very stylish and nice looking restaurant. Has a cosy atmosphere with great ambient. You need to reserve in advance the table. In addition to the standard menu they also have a seasonal one. A great selection of meat (of course), but also you can find some great fish and veggie options. Good selection of wines. I can recommend beef tartar, coleslaw salad and broccoli sprouts (you know your meat, I am sure :)). A nice touch is that they give you a variety of knives to choose from for your meat. Our waiter was very attentive and chatty, making sure we are having a nice time. Prices are rather high, but the quality of food is very good too, so it is worth it.

Very stylish and nice looking restaurant. Has a cosy atmosphere with great ambient. You need to reserve in advance the table. In addition to the standard menu they also have a seasonal one. A great selection of meat (of course), but also you can find some great fish and veggie options. Good selection of wines. I can recommend beef tartar, coleslaw salad and broccoli sprouts (you know your meat, I am sure :)). A nice touch is that they give you a variety of knives to choose from for your meat. Our waiter was very attentive and chatty, making sure we are having a nice time. Prices are rather high, but the quality of food is very good too, so it is worth it.

Beschreibung unseres Bootshaus-Abends in einem Wort: Spitzenklasse!

Zur Feier unseres Projektabschlusses habe ich den Family Room für unser 14-köpfiges Projektteam reserviert. Mir wurde erklärt, dass wir dort unter uns und sehr gemütlich an einem großen Tisch zusammensitzen können. Das Essen wird in 3 Gängen mit jeweils dem Besten von der Karte serviert und kommt zum Teilen in die Mitte.

Am Abend wurde ich sehr freundlich von Thomas und seinem Team willkommen geheißen. Thomas inoffizielle Berufsbezeichnung ist wohl Customer Satisfaction Expert, denn es ging ihm einzig und alleine darum, dass wir den besten vorstellbaren Abend haben werden. Seine Begeisterung und Hingabe sucht seines Gleichen und so war bereits die Weinauswahl für den Abend ein erstes Highlight! Nachdem alle Kollegen eingetroffen waren, wurde sogleich der Aperitif gereicht und sich dezent zurückgezogen, als der formale Teil des Abends mit der Dankesrede stattfand. Danach begann das kulinarische Abenteuer mit den Vorspeisen als ersten Gang. Um es gleich vorwegzunehmen, der Geschmack aller Gerichte ist außergewöhnlich gut und hatte mich persönlich schon bei vorherigen, privaten Besuchen im Bootshaus überzeugt. Als Nächstes kam Küchenchef Adam persönlich an unsere Tafel und präsentierte die Fleischauswahl für diesen Abend: Tomahawk-Steak, Tenderloin, Duroc-Schwein, New York Strip (wenn mich die Erinnerung nicht täuscht). Insgesamt ca. 3 kg Rohgewicht, was bei 11 Fleischessern am Tisch ca. 270 g pro Kopf ergibt. Zufällig stand Adam direkt neben unserem Bereichsleiter und Projektsponsor, als er das Tomahawk-Steak präsentierte und ihn direkt fragte, ob das denn gut aussähe und ausreichte. Sein beeindruckter Blick und das mehrmalige schnelle Bestätigen, dass das alles sehr gut aussieht, war grandios zu beobachten und hat mir eine große Freude bereitet! Der Empfehlung einer medium-rare Garstufe wurde ohne Nachfrage gefolgt und so aßen wir bald alle perfekt gegrilltes, saftiges und geschmacklich sehr intensives Fleisch. Einzig das Duroc-Schwein war für meinen Geschmack etwas trocken, ließ sich dadurch aber wunderbar mit all den unterschiedlichen Saucen, die neben einer Vielzahl von Beilagen serviert wurden, genießen. Die Krönung eines herausragenden Abendessens folgte dann mit dem 3. Gang. Die servierten Nachspeisen waren gelinde gesagt eine Offenbarung und obwohl wir alle eigentlich schon satt waren, konnte diesen einfach nicht widerstanden werden. Neben Creme Brulee, Schokomousse und Zitronentarte, war der Schweizer Bergkäse mit Apfelchutney auf knusprigen Graubrot herausragend und unbeschreiblich gut. Während des gesamten Abends wurde außerdem Wasser, laut oder leise je nach Gast, Weißwein und Rotwein sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend nachgeschenkt. Ich konnte kein einziges leeres Glas sehen. Zum Abschluss gab es eine Runde Hochprozentiges aufs Haus, wo auch hier wieder für jeden etwas dabei war. Selbst der Umstand, dass nach einem so tollen Erlebnis keiner schnell das liebgewonnene "Wohnzimmer" verlassen wollte und es bereits nach Mitternacht war, hat Thomas sehr professionell gehandhabt und mich dezent daraufhingewiesen, dass sie eigentlich schon seit einer halben Stunde geschloßen hätten, er die ausgelassene Stimmung und Atmosphäre aber nicht stören wollte. Auch dazu ein weiteres Mal Chapeau, ich kann mir einen besseren und wertschätzenderen Umgang mit seinen Gästen nicht vorstellen!

Fazit: Am Ende des Abends waren wir alle, eine bunt gemischte, internationale Gruppe zwischen 23 und 60 Jahren, mit 11 Carnivoren, 2 Pescetarian und 1 Vegetarier, hellauf begeistert und selbst die größten Erwartungen an diesem Abend wurden übertroffen! Tausend Dank an dich und dein Team Thomas, ich kann mir sehr gut vorstellen, dass wir beim nächsten Firmenevent wieder das Bootshaus auswählen werden, und der ein oder andere auch nochmal privat vorbeischauen wird, so toll war es einfach bei Euch!...
