We really enjoyed our dinner at Fang & Feld before our concert upstairs. The host and our server Ricardo were both extremely professional and courteous. Ricardo guided us through the menu and helped us choose a fantastic meal that fit perfectly with our limited time before the show.
The food was excellent. The highlight for me was the fish broth served in a teacup — I was skeptical at first, since similar dishes elsewhere often feel gimmicky, but this one was exceptional. The flavor was deep and balanced, and it really impressed us (especially since we’ve been living in Bavaria, where fish isn’t usually a strong point).
The steak was one of the best I’ve had across both Europe and the U.S.—comparable to the top-quality beef I’ve had in South Dakota and Texas. It was cooked perfectly and full of flavor.
The dessert was also wonderful. I’m not sure exactly what kind of ice cream was used, but it was incredibly light, with just the right sweetness to highlight the fruit, chocolate, and other components without overpowering them.
The only downside was the slow kitchen service. Of the three nearby tables seated around the same time, ours (a party of two) received food about 10–15 minutes later than the others, including a four-person table. All of them were older German couples, and the delay stood out enough to feel uncomfortable. Our waiter handled the situation gracefully and remained completely professional, but it was clear the delay wasn’t his fault.
Overall, Fang & Feld delivers excellent food, professional service, and a refined dining experience, but the kitchen pacing could use improvement—especially given the concert-going crowd that depends on...
Read moreWe had an amazing experience, great service, superb food! We liked it so much that my husband wanted to try everything in the menu. Tonight will be our 3rd night dinning at Fang & Feld. I am a pescatarian and my cod was cooked to perfection. My husband's pork and braised ox cheeks were absolutely wonderful. The fish soup fantastic and the cod starter delicious. Desserts were beyond my expectations. They also have a great selection of wines. If you are in Hamburg don't miss the experience, great quality and...
