Elbphilharmonie Plaza Café — Restaurant in Hamburg

Would give zero stars if I could. We sat at a table outside while eating some fruit and waiting for a friend to order inside. In the meantime a woman came and I'm not kidding when I say that she treated us worse than animals. Non-stop yelling, taking our stuff from the table to throw it and making us feel unwelcome at its minimum. Since we are not Germans, we weren't able to explain the situation and were treated so badly we decided to leave. I don't know how the staff allows such a person to work here but probably they are unaware that people from other cultures will sometimes visit. I would avoid this place at all costs, especially as a foreigner. She ruined our lovely afternoon outing. The only not so bad reviews I found are mostly by Germans which seems to indicate that they have clear preferences for customers at one of the most touristic places in Hamburg! You are better off at literally...

Avoid it under all circumstances! Would give it zero stars if possible :( my family and I were seated in the tables in the plaza, deciding what to get when this woman came out to shout at us and told us to be careful with the glass even though we were a meter away from it. She then came out again and shout at us to take our stuff off the table and leave. I was there having a rest with my infant baby and she couldn't care less. We decided not to waste our money there....

Ich war am Sonntag, zwischen 11:00 Uhr und 12:00 Uhr mit meiner Freundin im Rollstuhl, ihrer Mutter und meinem Mann auf der Plaza im dortigen Café. Es ist eine Unverschämtheit wie Rollstuhlfahrer*innen dort ausgegrenzt werden. Der einzige Tisch in normaler Sitzhöhe (mit Rollstuhlzeichen markiert) befindet sich auf dem dunklen Flur neben den Rolltreppen. Wir trugen die schweren Stühle, die um den Tisch herum standen, in das Café, um im Tageslicht und mit Blick auf die Elbe den Kaffee und den Kuchen zu verzehren. Ein Stuhl diente als Tisch. Die anderen Tische im Café waren in Thekenhöhe mit Barhockern versehen. Auch die 80jährige Mutter meiner schwerstbehinderten Freundin hätte auf den hohen Stühlen nicht Platz nehmen können. Die Angestellte im Café wies uns barsch darauf hin, dass wir die Stühle zurücktragen sollten, sobald wir das Café verließen. Sie seien schließlich schwer. Über diesen Service und die augenscheinliche Schlechterbehandlung von Rollstuhlfahrern kann jeder selber urteilen. Bei 32,— Euro für 4 Kaffee und 4 Franzbrötchen kann man etwas...
