Spice of India — Restaurant in Hattersheim am Main

Spice of India, as it's name, the food served here have flavors and aroma from spices of India. There are lots of options from vegetarian and non-vegetarian menu. It also has a lot to choose from starters, main course and sweet dishes. Indian breads (Naan, Kulcha and variety of Rotis) are also awesome. The ambience of indoors is very good. There is ample seating outdoors, facing public park which is wonderful. It doesn't only provides a good view but also an opportunity to stroll and sit in nature after meal. Kids can play in the park, giving elders some time to enjoy delicious food or drink peacefully. It also offers a room for organising small private parties, along with enclosing the common sitting area for your guests too. Staff is very friendly and the hospitality is simply great. It also offers a place to host party with buffet meal or pre-ordered dishes for the guests. It has a limited parking, but one can use the parking on the opposite side...

One of the waiter was really irritated at us for sitting at the "wrong table". He told us to sit somewhere else in the front. So we got up and sat at another table. He was displeased again because we did not sit at the table where he wished we sat. (This guy never told us specifically where to sit). We had to change 3 tables and check his expressions to know if he was satisfied. His attitude was such that it felt like we weren't welcome there.

The food: was average. The chicken soup was basically diluted butter chicken. The chicken vindaloo was not at all aunthentic. Biriyani wasn't good too. Dal Tadka and Naan were good though.

The person who served us the food was good and well mannered.

I will never go to this restaurant again because we didnt feel welcome there. That waiter alone has the potential to ruin the business of...

Have been to lot of Indian restaurant in and around Wiesbaden and Frankfurt region but in our experience the "Spice of India" is the only restaurant which is throughout consistent with the amazing taste of their food, preparation and hospitility. Visiting them since last two and half year but never find them compromising with the taste and quality of the food which was not the case with most of the other restaurants. That's the only reason I am writing this review.

Overall a great place to enjoy Indian food in nice cozy ambience located in the prime area with lot of parking available...
