MY CHRISTMAS DAY TRADITION FOR LUNCH, SAIGON SONNE FEATURES THE FINEST VIETNAMESE CUISINE IN ALL OF GERMANY, AS WELL AS MANY, MANY COUNTRIES IN WESTERN EUROPE.
THE OWNER CHOOSES TO SERVE THE "REAL DEAL", INSTEAD OF CUTTING CORNERS.
UNEQUIVOCALLY, SAIGON SONNE SERVES THE BEST PHO BO IN THE WORLD.
STEEPING THEIR BEEF BONES OVER 12 HOURS, RESULTS IN A BROTH THAT SATISFIES GASTRONOMICALLY AS WELL AS FORTIFIES THE BODY.
SAIGON SONNE IS THE ONLY VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT WHERE I SPOON THE PHO BO BROTH UNTIL THE VERY LAST DROP.
SUPER GENEROUS WITH THEIR BEEF SLICES, CRUNCHY VEGGIES AND RICE NOODLES, THE PHO BO IS LITERALLY A MEAL IN ITSELF.
THEIR PHENOMENAL CRUNCHY YET TENDER AND FLAVORFUL DUCKEE IS A CULINARY ORGASM!
AMMA ~ THE OWNER'S SUPER INTELLIGENT AND AFFABLE DAUGHTER, WAS AN ABSOLUTE DELIGHT AND IMPECCABLE IN HER SERVICE.
MY * SALUTE TO THE EXCEPTIONAL SAIGON SONNE...

Moving on to the mains: the chicken pho was alright, though it leaned a bit too much towards a beefy taste for my liking. But the curries stole the show! Both the green and red curries were fantastic. The veggies were perfectly cooked, and that red curry? Spicy perfection. The shrimp were OK, though I might skip them next time and stick with the veggie curry.
Despite the service being a bit slow, the food totally made up for it. Can't wait to come...
Read moreFood was fine even if a bit pricey. Service needs to address following issues: It is not ok to serve half of the guests at the table 30 minutes later then first half. The last guest at our table was served 53 minutes after we made an order. If there are young children at the table, kindly do not serve them last. Especially considering that they ordered the simplest possible dish on the kids menu. 1 dish and 1 drink were forgotten. Appeared some time after a reminder. It is not ok not to bring dessert, which was a part of the 3-course menu, but to include it in the bill. After we pointed it out, it was subtracted. With all due respect, for a barely half-full restaurant this is sub-optimal performance. Pity, since we had a very nice experience in this...
