Mohrenkopf Bistro & Cafe — Restaurant in Ingolstadt

This wonderful cafe is my top favorite cafe in the whole of Ingolstadt. Really, if I could give it ten stars or more, I would.

Everything they make here is so fresh and delicious. I had the Toast Hawaii with a glass of orange juice and afterwards, one Mohrenkopf and one Chocolate Croissant. Everything was delicious.

I love the location of this cafe... you have a great view wherever you may choose to sit.

They also have a super nice staff. On the day I went, I was lucky enough to meet and talk with the owner, who is super nice.

The lady working there is very rude. I went there today with 6 friends and we put two tables together and she got mad at us for that. She said there is no place for 7 people (although the cafe was half empty). We ended up just leaving the place. My friends said that maybe she treated us badly because we were all foreigners and didn't speak German very well... I hope that that is not the case. Anyway what's clear is that she was extremely rude to us!!

I will never go back...

Eine ganz schwache Leistung.

Während eines kurzen Besuchs in Ingolstadt blieben wir schockiert vor dem Restaurant stehen. In der heutigen Zeit sein Restaurant so zu nennen und sich dann zu beschweren, wenn man auf den unzeitgemäßen Namen angesprochen wird, bleibt uns ein Rätsel.

Zu den schlichten Begründungen der Kellnerinnen es hieße schon einige Jahrzehnte so und das werde sich auch nicht mehr ändern, kann ich nur sagen: Wenn ein Begriff mit so viel Leid und Schmerz verbunden ist und man als weiße Person in der Verantwortung steht dieses Leid zu beenden, der Name aber lediglich an ein Süßgebäck erinnern soll, dann könnte man das Café auch ganz einfach Schokokuss nennen.

Wenn man unmenschliche Weltbilder unterstützt muss man heutzutage mit reichlich angebrachter Kritik rechnen. Es ist nicht damit getan zu sagen „Einige schwarze Freunde haben kein Problem mit dem Namen", denn es geht hier um strukturellen Rassismus von dem weitaus mehr Personen betroffen sind als eine Handvoll Freunde. Es wäre ein löbliches und erfreuliches Zeichen der Menschlichkeit, dem Schrecken ein Ende zu bereiten. Es ist noch immer Zeit sich antiquierten Handlungen bewusst zu werden und für ein solidarisches Miteinander...
