This is from a visit back in February 2020:
We were walking around Ingolstadt craving for something spicy. We happened to see (and smell) this place as we walked by. We decided to give it a try, and we were not disappointed.
On the first visit, we were told the place was closed for a party in a couple of hours, but were offered seating if we could finish dinner before the party starts. This was agreeable to us, and at no point did we feel rushed.
I love curry dishes, and love chicken tikka masala - which I ordered along with their home-made iced tea.
What struck me was the freshness of the food and ingredients. Each mouthful had slightly different texture and flavor depending on the ingredients that happened to be in the spoonful. It's hard to describe - here in the Los Angeles, curries tends to be very uniform in texture and flavor. Safran's approach is far superior.
The tea included fruit flavoring and was slightly carbonated. Not normally my thing, but it was also very good.
My second visit was about a week later. I ordered the same thing again - however, while good, the tikka masala was a bit different than the previous visit - slightly more brown in color than orange-red. Still delicious.
Looking forward to visiting here again on my next...
Read moreWe came in three as family with a child. The ambience in the restaurant was nice. Not dark like the ones I have been. The place was clean and the server was helpful when I asked if they have halal meat of sorts (the chicken was halal). I ordered the tandoori chicken and and butter naan. To be honest I didnt expect much but when we received our foods, I was overwhelmed. It looked delicious, plenty of side dish and the taste of the overall food was superb. The tandoori chicken was flavorful, the meat was soft and not dry. The butter naan was made soft and warm. But it was a bit oily. Maybe they could strain in a bit the oil. As for the salad, it was dress well and I love the taste of the dressing. I was given a dipping sauce (for the naan i think) and it was yummy. It has nutty and coconut flavour. As for the rice, my toddler eat it with many spoonful alone. My husband also mentioned that the mango lassi was really good and has authentic taste. We were even given papadam. Often we don't in most restaurants. As for the price, it was a bit more but worth of paying. We will...
Read moreThe most finger licking Indian food I have had in last 13 years living in Europe. can’t even describe in words to expression the delicious food. It definitely reminds you of being in India - be it the amazing taste or the cultural decor or the lovely and humble staff. We started with mango lassi and fresh lime soda with some crispy mouth watering Samosas, followed by some endless main course options, we ordered Chicken65, chicken tikka masala, prawns masala laccha paratha, kulcha, garlic naan - all main course dishes are complimented with salad and traditional Indian style chutneys. It was just the best we ever ate here. The owner and as well the staff were so friendly and would recommend dishes as per your mood and the flavors involved. Lastly we had mango cream with vanilla ice cream - it just topped all our expectations....
