We were 6 foreign people drinking and eating after work hours on a Friday. And they asked to us, the only foreign people table, to leave, using the excuse we were not consuming enough, although every one of us was, and that there would be a (imaginary?) line outside waiting for our table. Outside there were only a few people smoking, as usual, but no line. I will never come back to a place such that where I don`t feel welcome.
As it's not possible to reply to the owner's answer, I'm editing my review to add my reply:
My observation about being foreign is due to the request to leave made by the waitress was made in german to the only person on the table who could speak properly the language. The rest of us are still studying it. Before that she was talking to all of us in a very good english. Somehow, she thought that the request to us to go away should not be addressed to the rest of the table, just to the german speaker person there.
Maybe there were more foreign people around us being treated very well. I can`t say. But the way we were treated (and without a proper explanation in english) was very rude.
And, as I said before, we were consuming (some drinks we asked before, arrived just after the first waitress asked us to leave). I dont know if this kind of behavior is normal in that bar or at the city in general, I really dont know (hopefully its not), but Im not used to be asked to leave (even if most of the table is not consuming, which was not the case). In my opinion it`s very...
Read moreGood selection of beers and nice atmosphere, but if more than two tables are occupied, the service is terrible.
We were a group of six people, and all ordered drinks and food. The drinks arrived quickly, but after waiting 30 minutes for our food, we asked about it. Then they checked in the kitchen and told us it is currently on the barbecue (we noticed other people who ordered after us had already gotten their food). Then we still waited more than 20 minutes until the last one of us got her food. We noticed that the fish was partly frozen. As compensation, they told us we did not need to pay for it and got free mozzarella sticks and onion rings. The next thing was that we ordered a stout that never arrived (20 minutes later we left anyway, but would have been nice to have drinks until the end). However (when paying at the bar), the fish and the stout were still on the bill, but they accepted our answer that the stout never arrived and the fish was partly frozen and we were promised not to pay for it.
I still think it is a nice pub, but maybe better on weekdays when there are not so...
Read moreWe contacted the pub one day in advance to make a reservation but the person told us that since we wanted to eat at 18:00 there would still be places available. When we arrived there were many people and all the tables were already reserved. We could finally sit on a table with a later reservation. My husband ordered the fish and chips and I got a burger. For an establishment that prides itself on the fact that the owner is of Irish descent, the fish and chip was horrendous: a mechanically battered frozen piece of fish. If you can't do a real fish and chip with fresh fish and homemade batter, don't bother! However, the burger was great as were the chips! The decoration of the inside of the pub is well done. We ate outside and once the food was brought out we were assaulted with flies. I don't know if it's because there are garbage bins close by but the owner should fix the situation. I would still go back and try...
