Of all the different Mexican/Spanish restaurants in Karlsruhe, this one probably has the best and most authentic tacos 🌮

Quite pricy, even during happy hour (7 to 8) but good quality ingredients and delicious flavors.

Full bar offering alcoholic drinks as well as various Spanish flavors ranging from tamarind to maracuya.

Guacamole portion could be bigger.

Great service, available in English and German.

Reservations can be made online, which I recommend, especially during summer as their outdoor and bar areas are very popular.

Sauces and other food products available for purchase at the front.

Indoor and outdoor seating. Smoking permitted in outdoor area.

Limited parking in the area, but easy to get to via tram or foot with several tram stations nearby including Otto, Mathystr and Arbeitsagent.

I had a fantastic time at Mapa. The bar is located in the base floor of an unassuming apartment building. To me, this almost elevated the experience further when you opened the door and become flooded with great live music, a great ambiance of old stereo equipment, and the clear Latin influence. The drinks were great, especially those made with the Enmascarado Mezcal. I met great people from all different parts of the world and look forward to going back again when I am next...

The tacos and quesadillas were yummy. Vegetarian and non vegetarian variants did not disappoint 🤗. We had cassava and sweet potato fries ❤️. The latter was less sweet than what I've ate around Karlaruhe. I guess it's a good think. All the sauces were delicious. I strongly connected to cuisine: black beans, cassava and sweet potatoes are very common in Cameroon. I just thought the decoration was giving #négligé. Maybe it's what MAPA is purposely going for.
