I have been here twice. Both of the times, I was mesmerised with the warm hospitality and amazing behaviour of the owners. They are always attentive towards the need of their customers while they are dinning, also asks for their feedback before they leave -- which is super nice! This shows their intent to always deliver their best and also constantly improve the quality -- and it is much appreciated! Now regarding the food, the highlight is ofcourse the authentic South Indian menu they offer. The weekend brunch menu is awesome! I truly hope they make that available all the time throughout the week (ofcourse, logistical problems are understandable, but there's no harm in hoping 😉). So far I have tried their mango lassi (impeccable!), medu vara, Veg Manchurian, chicken 65, two different types of dosa (the sambar they serve with that is to die for!), Hyderabadi chicken and lamb biryani. All of them were delicious, especially the Manchurian, dosa and the chicken biryani. The lamb biryani was a special dish they were offering once on a weekend. The taste was also very nice, but some of the solid lamb pieces were a little tough (completely understandable as for biryani, pieces with bones are always recommended, but it's not always available outside of India). The chicken biryani was way better which is also a regular dish on the menu. The portion size is also great. Only request from my side will be to keep up with this quality of food and service all the time. Overall, I can't wait to go back there again to treat my...
Read moreI absolutely do not agree with the good ratings given to this restaurant because my experience was horrible!! I have 1 out of 5 stars for Food because I ordered an indian Chai and a Plain Dosa. The Chai was brought to us within a second of placing the order and it tasted absolutely horrible. It tasted as if it had been cooked a couple of hours back and re-heated the tenth time - it was that bitter and stale!! The Sambhar on the other hand was not even warm.
I have given 1 out of 5 stars for the service because the lady brought the dosa in a broken plate. When I complained about the broken plate, her first response to me was, "This is our most expensive plate" To which I said, "I don't care about your expensive plate and I am not going to eat in a broken plate." With some reluctance she changed the plate. Her overall attitude while serving wasn't that great either.
I have given 1 star for the atmosphere because the seats are not comfortable - They have chair that one keeps in a garden or balcony inside the restaurant.
All in all I never going back to this place and I won't recommend...
Read moreWhile the South Indian food shows promise with its taste, several aspects of the experience left much to be desired. The dosas and idlis- which are available only on weekends- don’t even start until 11:30 AM, which can hardly qualify as breakfast. Even when served, the quality and texture of the dishes can be inconsistent.
The sambar is noticeably bland, lacking the vibrant flavours one might be used to. The thali which should be a diverse spread, falls short. On my last two visits, essential items like yogurt and rasam were missing. To add to the disappointment, the Karakozhambu was inexplicably replaced by paneer butter masala. Which led me to wonder since when paneer butter masala become a part of a South Indian Thali - „authentic“ as they put it.
The ambience doesn’t do much to enhance the dining experience. Service too was a bit chaotic. When it came to settling the bill, the total was rounded off from €32,90 to €35 with a casual comment that it was ‚just easier‘, despite not arranging any tipping arrangements. While this is maybe an isolated incident, it definitely did sour...
