Punjab — Restaurant in Karlsruhe

I would like to share an experience which I have never come across: I came here for lunch at 13:30 and when they came to take my order, they already mentioned that the order will take time and we were completely fine with it. My order came at 14:35(after an hour) which was incomplete and at 14:45 I asked them for an additional piece of naan and the remaining gravy, the Punjabi waitress working there gave me the remaining part of the gravy which had only oil and not actually a gravy and said me that the kitchen is closed. I said her that I got the order just now and to my surprise, following were the response: I can't do anything for you, how can you expect me to make for you in the kitchen. She said- We also have other things in life to do so we can't do anything for you.

Is the service you expect in a restaurant? Being an Indian as well, she was so rude to us. What a horrible experience. I would not at all recommend this restaurant to anyone. Only go there if you are fine with the rude behavior and...

My recent visit to Punjab Restaurant Karlsruhe left me greatly disappointed. Despite looking forward to a satisfying dining experience, I encountered numerous issues that marred the evening.

First and foremost, the service was subpar, particularly from one staff member who exhibited a rude demeanor throughout the meal. The lack of professionalism and courtesy significantly detracted from the overall ambiance and left a negative impression.

While the food itself was passable, it failed to compensate for the poor service received. The flavors were adequate, but the overall experience was overshadowed by the discourteous behavior of the service lady.

In conclusion, while Punjab Restaurant Karlsruhe may offer decent food, the lack of proper customer service greatly diminishes the overall dining experience. We recently moved to Karlsruhe and decided to try out the restaurant. The lady who is presumably the owner of the restaurant came with a grumpy face to take our order. My wife ordered in English, to which the lady took affront and answered haughtily in Hindi that she takes orders only in Deutsch, Hindi and Punjabi since she does not LIKE to speak in English.So much for "Athithi Devo Bhava". We ignored her remarks and ordered a sweet and salt lassi. Both were heavily watered down, tasteless and served without a smile. The starters and main courses were served after a long waiting time and the quantity and quality of the food did not befit the price stated on the menu card. Once we were done with the food, had to signal 2-3 times to catch her attention( the lady was playing on her smartphone :O ) so that we could pay the bill.
