Wirtshaus Wolfbräu — Restaurant in Karlsruhe

The atmosphere - although lively, we liked it much better than the noisy Badisch Brauhaus (which is simply bigger and closer to the Schloss Karlsruhe and the Marktplatz). There were some free seats in a December Sunday evening, so finding a table without prior reservation was not an issue. The service was prompt.

The Pute Salat was enormous as quantity with substantial share of meat (fried turkey breast). In other places they will name it "Roasted Turkey with Fresh Vegetables Salad". The Hausgemachtes Pulled Pork was probably the best dish we had - the meat (treated right to match one's finest dreams) over the potato bead (both crispy and tender) with soft caramelized onions and creamy sause. The wording in the menu for this dish is just not good enough. Beware of the hot pan! The Hausgemachte Fleischmaultasche could be warmer at the moment of serving and up to my taste lacked a kind of accent - e.g. a spicy cheese coating, milk-yogurt-garlic or tomato-pastis sause. The sause served with the dish complemented (close to) nothing to the taste of the Fleischmaultasche and was used to supplement the roasted turkey in the Pute Salat.

Regarding the drinks - the Kellerpils was superior...

We had a really good time at Wirtshaus Wolfbräu. They have vegetarian burgers and large Flammkuchen. The drinks and the atmosphere on a pleasant summer night were absolutely a treat. However, I would rather imagine the burgers being served with a side of fries without having to order them as extra. The desserts are also a bit overpriced. All in all, we enjoyed...

I really don't reccomend! Bad a lazy attitude to customers. We came quarter to 11 pm when they apparently closing the kitchen and the waitress didn't come up to us intil it was 11 and said the kitchen is closed. Even thou she saw we were with two hungry kids she served to some old local guys and didn't give a ** about us!!! Horrible place!!! Horrible...
