Strange, is how I would describe our experience at this place. We had come to this city from NL which is not very well known for its indian culinary experiences, but even with the low bar this place was a disappointment. And as someone who knows how to cook, I think I can explain this to lack of love and plain laziness. One being the cause for the other. Every curry served was an unfinished tomato gravy with some boiled pieces of chicken or paneer or something else. The lamm biryani took the crown for the worst biryani experience for being a tomato rice with boiled lamm pieces. It comes with dessert in the shape of enough raisins to supplement my calorie needs for the day. On the bright side we had our dessert as that. The chicken shorba needs special mention for the laziest preparation of that item I had seen in my life. One can cater to a German palette without compromising on the quality or love, but somehow this place has a 4.5 rating. I sincerely hope the local people can at some point of time discover a true indian taste because this just isn't it. Wir hatten uns für den Geburtstag unseres Freundes für einen Besuch im indischen Restaurant entschieden und wurden definitiv nicht enttäuscht – allerdings auf eine Art, die wir so nicht erwartet hatten.

Der Abend begann mit einem Schmunzeln: Nachdem wir den Staub aus der Tischdeko geklopft hatten, sorgten die weihnachtlichen Alu-Sterne im Hochsommer für heitere Stimmung. Eine gelungene, wenn auch unkonventionelle Art, das Eis zu brechen!

Das Team war sehr freundlich, und das Nan-Brot vorab war wirklich ein Genuss. Auch der indische Wein war überraschend gut und sehr lecker.

Beim Hauptgang zeigte sich dann das gesamte Spektrum des Abends: Während das vegetarische Gericht absolut super schmackhaft war, überraschte das Chicken Tikka Masala mit einer unerwarteten Süße. Es war ganz anders, als wir es gewohnt waren, und leider nicht pikant würzig. Aber nun gut, über Geschmack lässt sich streiten.

Das Highlight des Abends war zweifellos das Entertainment-Programm: Eine unfreiwillige Slapstick-Einlage, bei der ein Teller beim Servieren auf einen Gast fiel, sorgte für große Verwirrung und Lachen. Die fehlende Entschuldigung im ersten Moment war dabei das Tüpfelchen auf dem i. Später entschuldigte sich die Chefin des Hauses doch noch und spendierte uns einen Schnaps aufs Haus.

Auch wenn das heruntergefallene Essen dennoch auf der Rechnung stand, möchten wir uns für diesen unvergesslichen Abend bedanken. Ein Abend mit Freunden, der uns wirklich alles geboten hat: Freude, Irritation, gute Geschmäcker, enttäuschende Momente – und vor allem Stoff für Anekdoten, an die wir uns noch lange...
