Mangia Mangia Kronberg — Restaurant in Kronberg im Taunus

We ate at Mangia Mangia in Kronberg on 21.12.2024. Once again, the food and service were good. We enjoy eating there.

However, I would particularly like to praise the hostess who was in charge that evening.

A drink was accidentally spilled on the table next to us by one of the staff. An Asian couple were sitting at the table with their young daughter and son. The hostess apologized and offered the family a new table nearby and helped them change tables.

The husband was very upset and demanded the hostess apologize to him and his children. He was not polite at all and his tone was very aggressive. The hostess apologized again, but that wasn't enough for him. I won't bore anyone with further details, but he became increasingly rude in his verbal assault on her until, after she apologized at least seven times, she politely informed him that she had other customers to take care of and that she was sorry again. Fortunately, he didn't pursue the matter any further after she left.

If a negative review is posted by the asian couple - you know the truth now.

There are better ways ro throw your money away. I can't say that the staff is unfriendly, because it is just this one guy. He just doesn't want to be there. Somehow he couldn't manage to get anything right. First he refused to bring the menu with allergens. Even though it is required and it is written on the menu that it is available upon request. Then the drink came out wrong. Then we found the hair in our pasta. And at first they were going to charge for it too. In the end, we find out that the gluten free pasta we ordered was also with gluten. So the perfect example that the team is as good as it's weakest member. Ich schreibe diese Rezension weil ich den Laden gerne besuche. Ich hoffe diese Kritik wird als Anlass zur Verbesserung angenommen

Seit über einem Jahr bin ich regelmäßiger Gast im Restaurant. Ich bin fast ausschließlich zum Mittagessen vor Ort. Die Bedienung war stets freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Atmosphäre war immer sehr freundlich und einladend. Man wurde freundlich begrüßt, es wurde sich stets um einen gekümmert.

Seit August 2024 haben zwei Bedienstete den Laden verlassen. Seitdem läuft es nicht mehr so wie zuvor.

Das Essen ist nach wie vor gut. Doch der Service hat leider stark nachgelassen.

Die Begrüßung ist weniger freundlich. Bis zur ersten Bestellung (Wasser) dauert es sehr lange. Man bekommt Brot auf den Tisch gestellt doch nach dem Olivenöl muss man immer fragen. Das Tagesangebot sollte immer vorgestellt werden. Wird es aber nicht, auch das auf Nachfrage.

Nach der Bestellung warten wir deutlich länger auf das Essen. Das ist unabhängig davon wie voll das Restaurant ist.

In der Zwischenzeit achten die Kellner wenig auf einen. Leere Flaschen werden nicht vom Tisch genommen oder man wird nicht gefragt ob man mehr trinken möchte.

Sobald das Essen fertig ist, wissen die Kellner fast nie wer was bestellt hat. Auch wenn man selbst die Bestellung aufgenommen hat. Auch dieser Moment wird nicht dafür genutzt um überflüssiges Geschirr abzuräumen. Stattdessen gibt es zum Steak kein Steakmesser.

Während dem gesamten Besuch wird man nie gefragt wie es einem schmeckt oder ob man noch etwas möchte. Man achtet nicht auf die Gäste.

Ausnahmslos ist das bezahlen ein Akt. Man fragt nach der Rechnung und wartet und wartet. Dann muss mal nochmal fragen. So war es bei den letzten fünf mal. Dann wartet man wieder sehr lange.

Wir waren knapp 2 Stunden vor Ort für ein Mittagessen. In der Vergangenheit war das immer in ca. einer Stunde machbar.

Beim Verlassen des Restaurants wird man nicht verabschiedet. Außer man sagt selbst auf Wiedersehen.
