Shiki Sushi Two Riemannstr. 29a — Restaurant in Leipzig

Is the worst experience ever we have given this restaurant multiple tries and every time is worst then the other. Today we order. We said bring everything at the same time plus one dish to take away. 5 minutes after (first I have yo say it took 20 min to be able to order) sorry but the sushi you order we don’t have it. Ok I said I need another alternative from sushi with beef ( I am allergic to see food and fish) …. Oh so you want a vegan dish… no … sushi another type of meat… Imposible. Then the Idea was order from the teppanyaki although i wanted sushi. They would not listen. Then ok a chicken teriyaki. He repeated the orther, the dish to go wasn’t on it we said again all at the same time. 20 min later only half of one dish came , we said respectfully this is not what was order …. No problem. Wait 20 min we asked when is the rest coming? Oh it is between 15-45 min. Then I said this is not good service to what he argues with me disrespectfully telling me I am in a bad mood and there are other customers so I said bring me the check and I pay what we had. He turns around raising his voice on the way to the kitchen telling me that is on the house and that I am not worth it. So it is the last time. Sorry...

The food is great…tasty, authentic, and affordable considering the ingredients. The restaurant is located in a nice part of the Riemannstr., famous for being trendy. Although, there was no waiting time for table, because we had a reservation. The service was subpar. Our attendant was very forgetful. This resulted in us getting our drinks almost 30minutes after we made the orders, and the meal after another 60-70 minutes, so we had a waiting time of 1 hour and 35minutes in total. He also had to be reminded to bring the extra for a member of our group during the meal, which he only remembered to do after 15minutes into the meal. The local guides who have given good reviews must have been eating somewhere else! The food is as distant from authentic Japanese as Germany is to Japan. Not even close. Waitresses were curt so service wasn't making me smile either.

Food: Crunchy roll that smelt and tasted like used oil from an burnt cooking dish. Frozen carb stick in it instead of the promised fish stated in the menu. Sauces in the main dish were overpoweringly sweet. No no! This restaurant has nothing to do with Japan. I understand many Germans may not know but for their price there should be no returning patrons. Otherwise they will never change their attitude...
