Heimat Lindau — Restaurant in Lindau (Bodensee)

Very poor service from waitress, when asked by my friend whether the Burrata cheese was pasteurised, due to pregnancy, was told how it took her 10 minutes to ask and that she didn't know. We were told that we would read the menu. After she did ask the chef, rather than being happy, that said cheese was pasteurised so the pregnant person could eat it... her advice was in the future not to ask these questions as it inconvenienced the waitress by 10 minutes.

Then, when we were served our meals, we waited and waited for cutlery until we asked for it. Nobody checked in that our meals were ok, and we had to wait a long time to pay. This put us all in such a bad mood for such bad service. We only asked a simple question in a very polite manner. This waitress should choose another industry.

I don’t know how I could miss this cozy restaurant for so long. Heimat offers wide variety of meals with also quite a few vegetarian but also non-vegetarian options. The monthly specials also included things like a chestnut soup and seasonal burgers. On Friday and Saturday evenings Heimat also offers a happy-hour for cocktails which were also very tasty!

Given that the restaurant is very cozy - it even feels like a lounge in some areas - it’s hard not to start with a nice meal in the afternoon and then stay for the cocktails! Definitely a place I will visit again on future stays in the city!

The only downside I could find was that the toilets weren’t clean and also...

In general can't complain about food quality, but service could be better. We ordered 4 salads and soup. Soup with small salad arrived in around 15 minutes, other 3 dishes we have had to wait next half an hour. Unfortunately it wasn't the end of the visit bitterness. Waiter for some reason brought the burger. After small clarification and waiting for the next 10 min he finally brought the ordered salad. We declined coffee on the house because unfortunately we have had...
