Café Augustin — Restaurant in Lindau (Bodensee)

We had been visiting Linday Insel over Halloween with 3 friends (5 of us total). We planned to go here on the last day. When we walked in we waited at the counter, we kept getting told to move out of the way by seemingly annoyed waitresses (apologies, but there isnt any room to stand anywhere else). We stood for 5 minutes and then walked out. Once outside a friend of ours decided that she would go back inside to see if she could order a piece of cake to go. One of the waitresses outside told her yes that was ok and to go inside and order. When she tried to order, the waitress behind the desk told her no, and that they dont do takeaway cake. We all thought the experience was very odd and the service was poor with waitresses who clearly didnt want our business.

We instead went to a cafe about 50 meters away (i will not say the name) but the man was still opening his cafe but was still very accomodating and friendly and we spent 2 hours there having a nice lunch.

We were told that some places in Lindau arnt fond of tourists (Augustin seems like one of them) will advise friends to avoid in future. I am forced to leave a 1 star review as we were not permitted to...

After a decently long road trip around Lake Constance, stopping at Buchcafe Lindau was the perfect way to relax and enjoy the beauty that the Island of Lindau has to offer. I ordered a cappuccino and a slice of cherry cake, and I was very happy with both items. The vibe inside and outside of the cafe is one I can only describe as unique, and the tucked-away nature of the cafe in the first place made it fun to explore. Ich bin eine große Buchliebhaber, deshalb es gefällt mir sehr, dass in diese Buch-Café die Gäste so holistisch bewirten: Körper-Seele-und Geist. Darunter verstehe ich, dass hier nicht nur die Körper der Gäste bewirten, sondern, in der freundlichen Atmosphäre dieses Café tut auch für die Seele sehr gut und Dank der Bücher wird er Geist der Menschen auch amüsiert :)

Akárhányszor csak elsétálok Lindau szigetén a Fischergasse 33. szám alatt, mindig jóérzéssel tölt el ez az igencsak hangulatos könyvesbolt-és egyben kávézó. Az ember lánya egy jó könyv mellett kávézhat, vagy éppen falatozhat valami finomat az ínyencségek közül, pl. ínycsiklandó sütiket. Az is tetszik, hogy olyan színesen, otthonosan van berendezve, tényleg léleküdítő! Szerettem volna a részese lenni ennek a - mondhatni holisztikus egésznek-, ahol nem csak a testet táplálják, de a barátságos légkörben a lelket és az érdekes könyveknek köszönhetően a szellemet is szórakoztatják. Ezért 2020 telén jelentkeztem az egyik álláshirdetésükre egy komplett önéletrajzzal, stb. - de még csak válaszra sem méltattak. Személyesen vittem el a jelentkezési papírjaimat egy sötétkék dossziéban, amit gondolom csak átadtak a főnöknek az alkalmazottak megtekintésre. Vagy nem???

Nos, azóta is várom a választ, vagy legalább a papírjaimat vissza (postán), de semmi! Ez a része azért nagy csalódást okoz... ezért adtam csak 3 csillagot az első pozitív értékelésem ellenére. Mert írhatnám akár azt is, hogy túl szűkös a hely... és hogy ha az emberek az utcai székekre kiülnek, jól össze kell húzzák magukat, mert szinte az orruk előtt megy...
