Cavazzen Museum — Attraction in Lindau (Bodensee)

The Island and city of Lindau, located at the very east of South Germany's Lake of Constance (Bodensee), belonging to the state of Bavaria which allows Bavaria to have access to a small part of the Lake. First records go back to 200 when during the Roman Empire remains of a Roman Villa were found. In 882 a Monk from the St. Gallen (Switzerland) Abbey established a Catholic Convent. He documented and named Lindau, which in his translation means 'Island of the Linden tree's'. All this happened at the nearby area of Aeschach but in 1079 the Convent moved to the Island itself. Due to it's growing Trade activities with neighboring countries Austria, Switzerland and Italy it was given the status of an 'free Imperial city' in 1275. The French Revolution (1789) brought a lot of changes and Lindau became part of Austria but returned to Bavaria in 1805. With this in 1853 an important Train station was built, connecting the area with Munich, and South Europe. After WWII it was occupied by French troops (while the remaining Bavaria was under American control) As it was never badly battled or bombed, Lindau today is a jewel of old historic houses with churches, markets and activities. Note: In 1322 the Lindauer Bote (Lindau messenger) was a Postal service that travelled once a week from Lindau via Austria, Switzerland's Alp's (the Viamala) to Italia's Milan. Lindau Stadt Museum (Cím: Maximilianstraße 52, 88131 Lindau (Bodensee) a Chelles-Alle hídon áthaladva egyszerűen csak sétáljatok be Lindau szigetének óvárosi részébe és a templomok (St. Stephen evangélikus templom, ill. a katolikus Szűz Mária templom), valamint Neptunusz szökőkútja mögött a Marktplatzon (piactér) már meg is látjátok a teret, ahol a Stadt Museum található, mert elég nagy, szépen festett, szembetűnő épület, a bejáratához piros szőnyeg vezet fel :)

Fontos tudnivaló, hogy a Városi Múzeumnak csak március 28-tól - augusztus 30-ig van nyitvatartási ideje (10 órától - 18 óráig). Téli időszakban tehát csak kívülről tekinthető meg.

Jómagam még nem jártam a belső részén (de tervezem), viszont a lányom már 2x is volt az osztálytársaival, iskolai programként híres festők munkáit nézték meg (Picasso és Paul Klee). A lánykám szerint a múzeum belülről szép és elegáns.

Ich besuchte heute die Ausstellung im Zuge des Kombi Tickets mit der Hundertwasser-Ausstellung. Vielen Dank für den attraktiven Preis. Zumal das Ticket nicht gemeinsam eingelöst werden muss, sondern im laufenden Jahr noch besucht werden kann. Die Ausstellungen waren grundsätzlich interessant und durch die interaktive Gestaltung sehr ansprechend. Allerdings fehlt mir der rote Faden, bzw. eine deutlichere Beschilderung. Gefühlt bin ich von einem Thema ins nächste "gestolpert". Es steht auch nirgends, wo man anfangen soll und wie der Weg ist. Das kenne ich von anderen Museen. Leider wirkten die Damen, welche zugegen waren, ziemlich lustlos. Auf freundliche Nachfrage kam nicht wirklich viel. Schade, ein Lächeln kostet nichts. Auch wenn man nicht weiterhelfen kann, hinterlässt es einen positiven...
