Huong Viet Imbiss — Restaurant in Ludwigshafen am Rhein

Everywhere I see Bun Bo Hue, I have to try it…even though I don’t eat meat most of the time. It is my childhood favorite dish and the specialty from where my father‘s family is from. I ran into this place after visiting a concert at the Staatsphilharmonie….quite accidentally. People are nice, it is a modest and clean place. And most importantly the Bun Bo Hue was really really good. Not so thin like in many places….enough lemon grass, herbs. I had to add a bit of fish sauce, but besides of that, it tastes like how I remember it from home. I would say the best I have had so far in the region. By far the best Vietnamese in the region. I’m Vietnamese, have grown up in a family of chefs owning Vietnamese restaurants and have lived in Vietnam so I know what authentic Vietnamese food should taste like. I have been trying every Vietnamese restaurant in MA and nearby towns and now won’t eat anywhere else. It’s fresh, perfectly seasoned, cheap, fast and the friendliest people you will meet in a restaurant. They are like family and take care of us and our son. Very family friendly. We always order the special Vietnamese dishes but the crispy duck is also excellent! Must try and worth it to go out of your way...

Bei unserem Wochenendtrip nach Ludwigshafen/Mannheim sind wir auf dieses Restaurant aufmerksam geworden als wir am ersten Abend einen andere Weg zum Hotel zurückgelaufen sind. Es macht zwar von Außen nicht viel her, ist eher ein Imbiss, jedoch hat uns dass dennoch angesprochen, weshalb wir am nächsten Abend dorthin zum Essen gehen wollten, was wir dann auch getan haben. Wir hatten einmal Sommerrollen, die geschmacklich OK, aber nicht super waren. Zu dem hatten wir dreimal die 26 (Ente mit 2x Erdnusssoße und 1x Currysoße). Beide Gerichte waren schön angerichtet, was man nicht unbedingt erwarten könnte, und vor allem sehr lecker. Die Ente war, wie es bei Ente häufig vorkommt, teilweise nicht so schön, aber dennoch gut. Uns hat es sehr gut geschmeckt, wobei es uns eigentlich zu viele Sprossen waren, dafür sehr wenig Gemüse. Andersherum wäre es uns lieber. Die Sojasoße unter den Sprossen/dem Gemüse war OK, jedoch stehen wir nicht so auf Sojasoße. Insgesamt war das Essen aber sehr gut, weshalb wir gerne wiederkommen, wenn wir Mal wieder in Ludwigshafen sein sollten. Die Inhaber waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Und man konnte sich erstaunlich gut verständigen, was nicht in jedem asiatischen Restaurant/Imbiss der Fall ist. Die Preise waren für die gebotene Leistung auf jeden Fall angemessen.
