Lütticher Hof — Restaurant in Monschau

I have come here for years because of its great location in the old town by the river and because of its warm cosy atmosphere, almost like a mountain hut. After my last disastrous visit though, I have decided not to come back. I had forgotten that this place accepts cash only, and knew that the owner had a bit of a rough character so I started to get nervous when I got up to pay. And sure enough, the owner asked me to either leave a passport or a family member while I was running to the nearest ATM, which I felt was unacceptable. He thus wanted to call the police and even grabbed me when I was attempting to go out to withdraw money without leaving a piece of identity. My wife and daughter were a bit in panic so I decided to cut short this conflict by letting my wife withdraw money and pay the guy while I waited as his prisoner. A pretty little restaurant with a terrace overlooking the river in Monchau. I was walking through the town and I ended up choosing this place because the staff looked friendly and as if they wanted to be there, which in some place does not appear the case. During visiting the small city of Monschau with group of friends we were having a launch in that restaurant. I took the grilled pork steak in Mustard Sauce “Monschau” with potatoes and salad.
