Barista Sistar - Kaffee, Frühstück, Mittagessen und Kuchen — Restaurant in Munich

100% joie de vivre. I already came there last year with a friend who made me discover this place and I wasn't impressed at that time. This time it is different as I started to connect the dots and when I connect the dots, I am very happy, will share later why. So this place isn't in the city center (yeah!), it has plenty of room inside to sit on big tables or in comfy vintage chairs and read a good book while eating a delicious über moist chocolate cake with a decadent icing topped with crunchy nuts unless I am mistaken, crunchy chocolate beans? You can also sit outside if you prefer. It is quiet, not hipster like, it offers a great atmosphere to be content with. You have to order at the counter then come back there later to pay so a sort of self service but I don't mind. I haven't tried the coffee yet as instead I had a golden milk with curcuma freshly grated that made me feel less guilty to indulge with the chocolate cake. I know this is an illusion. And here is where I am connecting the dots. This place is near the nail salon Mina that is 5 min walk, a place that I highly recommend. I also found some instant coffee whose packaging matches randomly to my nails. A nice place to go over the weekend, enjoy a treat and read a good book. But I am aware I was in a good mood and relaxed and might not be totally objective. Edit 29.09. Came back with a friend and one star down as it confirmed me what I already felt the other day: service can be a bit improved. It's an okay place but it's definitely over-hyped and really not so cozy as everyone keeps saying.

Basically it's an empty room with two benches on either side and rows of long, huge tables along either sides. All quite pure and quite bright light, it definitely lacks cozyness for a coffeeshop.

If they added more cushions so you don't have to lean onto a cold wall, changed the harsh bright light for somewhat more low ambient lighting and maybe even added some candles to the tables, maybe even played some music, too: I would have stayed a bit longer. My friend sat across the table and since there was no music at all, we had the impression everyone was able to listen in to our conversation, which felt really odd.

Also: they should honestly place sugar trays on ALL tables! Really this is a minimum any other coffeeshop would do for their stay-in guests around Munich. Instead you have to get up from your huge table again, get it yourself from a small take-away bar across the room and put it back there again yourself because there is just ONE sugar thingy for the entire place... I found this pretty uninviting and annoying, too.

The cakes were okay but there are definitely better places for cake and pastry around the Giesing neighborhood. The coffee itself was okay but not really good. Yet, still they charge mid-range prices for an otherwise below standards...

War heute das Erste mal hier und werde gerne wiederkommen.

Die Atmosphäre ist schön und im Gegensatz zu manch anderen Rezensionen war ich POSITIV überrascht, dass Laptops verboten sind.

Ich wollte lernen und dabei frühstücken und was trinken, dafür ist die Atmosphäre ideal. Das Café ist bequem, hell, freundlich und vermittelt einfach "Wohlfühlen und Durchschnaufen".

Die Getränke und das Essen kam superschnell und waren liebevoll präsentiert. Es gibt auch tolle Audwahl für Vegan/Vegetarisch.

Jetzt kommen wir zum heiklen Teil, weil Essen einfach Geschmackssache ist und da waren meine Erfahrungen einfach stark gemischt.

Ich fand das Schoko-Crossaint, das ich mir für meine Pause mittags mitgenommen habe total lecker und sehr empfehlenswert

Vor Ort hatte ich Toast mit Avocado und Eiern und würde das nicht noch mal so nehmen Es war nicht schlecht, definitiv gut essbar. Leider nur auch nicht richtig gut. Der Toast eher ziemlich starr, die Avocado mehr eine Avocadocreme bei der noch anderes dabei war, was nicht unbedingt nach meinem Geschmack war und die auch von der Konsistenz/Optik her mich nicht so angelacht hat, wie einfach eine Avocado in Scheiben / leicht zerdrückt auf dem Brot. Dadurch ergibt sich, dass ich das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis von knapp 13€ für mich persönlich und subjektiv als Ausgabe nicht rechtfertigen kann.

Aber - und das ist der Punkt - das Crossaint war total fair bepreist für mein Empfinden. Es geht bei Preis-Leistung ja auch immer um die subjektive Kompoente, was es einem selber WERT ist. Die Sandwiches - die ich NOCH nicht probiert habe - sahen z. B. auch üppig aus für die 8€.

Insofern werd ich mich einfach bei zukünftigen Besuchen durch experimentieren, was für mich stimmig ist und was eben nicht.

Der Service war auch super und sehr freundlich. Ich freue mich auf zukünftige Besuche.

PS: danke auch für die ausführliche Antwort zur Preis-Kalkulation und die nette Erklärung. Meine Aussage sollte tatsächlich nicht den Preis an sich kritisieren. Es macht Sinn, dass grade bei Avocados und Bio-Sauerteig die Zutatenpreise hoch sind und tatsächlich hab ich wenig romantische Vorstellungen von Gastro, sondern hatte mich nach eigener Beschäftigung damit selber dagegen entschieden ein Café aufzumachen, eben aus den von Dir genannten Gründen. Man muss da schon große Leidenschaft dafür haben, dass man das macht. Meine Aussage bezog sich deswegen ganz spezifisch darauf, dass es MIR persönlich den zurecht verlangten und sinnvoll kalkulierten Preis nicht wert ist, anderes (Sandwiches, Crossaint) aber schon. Und für andere Menschen kann die Rechnung für all diese Dinge wiedsr anders ausgehen. Es geht bei Preis-Leistungs-Empfinden letztlich auch immer ums Subjektive. Ist mir das Positive, das ich kriege, den Tausch gegen das Geld wert. Das sollte keine Aussage darüber sein, dass ihr falsch bepreist.
