Breadbox - Vegan Sandwiches & Smashburgers — Restaurant in Munich

Firstly very excited to see new exciting plant based options and this place has a lot of potential . I would love to give 5 stars but I feel they fall short in a couple of places.

We've been twice and have tried 4 sandwiches in total and in general portions are too small for the prices. I feel like we had one good sized bread out of 4. Also needs more in the sandwich. The meatball had only 2 meatballs in it and not enough sauce for example.

Some sandwiches are delicious - the kebap suprised us and the bunda was decious - just wanted more of it. Chicken filayy I couldnt really taste all the lemony ingredients mentioned. It was more like a fast food chicken burger.

Milkshakes are great and a 5/5.

The other thing is service isn't great. Very slow even when we were the only people there and they messed up an order and put extra mozzerella on the wrong sandwich which we noticed much later. I know they are new so hoping it improves.

In general though a lot of potential and hope they can take constructive criticism. They could be a Dr Drooly for sandwiches. Sorry for the essay but I really want...

Breadbox has such an extensive and interesting menu for sandwiches and burgers!

I tried the Truffle Bomb sandwich, which has fried oyster mushrooms, truffle mayo, truffle oil, Calabrian chilli and chickpea basil pesto.

Speaking of quantity, it's a loaded sandwich so that's great for the price you pay. They also cut the sandwich in half which is great cause it isn't messy (I'd recommend not wearing white though).

What I love about these sandwiches is that each option has so many different elements and they come together so well. For the Truffle Bomb, the chilli oil has a beautiful kick that isn't too strong. The creamy basil-chickpea pesto complements the spiced mushrooms really well too.

If I'm not mistaken, they even ferment their bread in-house!

Great place to go to for a nice weekend treat or quick...

The place is small, the branding & style are urban-cute, the service is fine, presentation is sometimes messy but nice but.. I don't get the food at all as it's pretty tasteless, even just a bit of salt would make a difference. We visited the place twice & in total tried 4 sandwiches, it feels that the filling quantity differs drastically from sandwich to sandwich and sometimes is rather absent, and I also surprisingly found the bread itself rather tasteless.
