So happy to have discovered this little café in one of the not-as-populated neighborhoods of Munich. If you're looking for a new place to try-out, make it Café Zimt.
I love the weekend tradition of Kaffee & Kuchen ("Coffee & Cake") but have been so bored with the lackluster selections in all the popular neighborhoods. Just went to Café Zimt yesterday and it was my thought "Hey, why don't we go for some K&K?" just now that initiated this review - because that's where we're headed if we end-up going!
Café Zimt's cake selection is more interesting than the usual same ole' basic cheesecake that you get everywhere else (e.g. curry mango!!) but they also have some closer to more classic flavors (e.g. wild berry marmalade with a hard white chocolate topping). In addition to the better-than-average selection, the quality of the cakes are also surely better-than-average. My husband got the cherry crumble and it was unbelievablely delicious.
Aside from the great cake selections, I ended-up enjoying a great salad for my lunch. It-was-delicious(!) and very original: honey mustard dressing with arugula, walnuts, dried dates, and dried apricots. Yum, yum, yum! Can't...

Despite the rave reviews about the service, our experience fell short. While the servers were polite, they lacked professionalism. Our server didn’t know what the quiche of the day was (despite there being only a 5 warm items on the menu) and was also unsure about their beer selection. Additionally, we watched our drink order sit at the bar for 5 minutes before being served, resulting in lukewarm hot drinks.
We were also reminded multiple times that we needed to vacate our table by a certain time due to a private function. Though we reassured them we’d be done by then, it felt unnecessary to be reminded several times, which disrupted our meal.
Overall, it was a bit of a hit-and-miss experience - good food but overshadowed by...

You get an afternoon tea-like etagiere with freshly grilled veggies, olives, jam, vegan chocolate spread, beetroot hummus, and salad. In separate glasses, you get beetroots mixed with walnuts and strawberries and a fruit cocktail. Plus, there's really tasty bread and a vegan croissant. The entire thing is almost enough for 2 people to share. Everything was super fresh. The café itself is in a really nice neighbourhood and the service is friendly....
