Today we had a bumming experience. Don´t get me wrong, the ice cream is ok it´s rather good for Munich. What was aweful and rude was the service personal. We ordered a banana split like we do for 20 years in every ice cafe. Then it came with alcohol in it (egg nogg). As I do not drink alcohol I took it to the service counter inside the cafe and asked politely for help that I unfortunately cannot eat this and it must be a mistake. Three service employees gathered around me and started to discuss with me that i needed to study the menu better because the alcohol version is the basic version of the dish (even if without alcohol is also an option and the waitress just did not ask for it) - I think i do not need to discuss how wrong it is to just serve alcoholic ice cream without asking (just think about dry alcoholics. younger people or people with allergies)
What irritated the most was the aggressiveness the service showed after my polite question and they did not hesitate to blame the mistake entirely on us - and did not even try to listen to my explaination - they just tried to talk me down. It was so rude. They were talking in a very aggressive and irritating tone to me. At least they offered us to solve the problem and serve a new portion (but not without trying to blame me again and again) of the ice in the end - but what a drama it was, all staring by a polite question. I would never be agressive or offending to a service employee because I know how hard the job is but i cannot understand this reaction at all. I think I might blame it on the team lead or something for this strange atmosphere. Don´t get me wrong I also despise throwing away food but it ends at the line of my principles which are rather clear (no alcohol)
We loved this place for a year but i don`t think we will ever come back as our trust is so deeply damaged. So sad for the...
Read moreThis might be the worst experience with a gelato store and overall the worst in Munich with any store. The gelato is extremely overpriced for the taste. I’ve tasted gelato that is two times better and it’s way cheaper. The personnel seemed rude and unwelcoming. They don’t know English, which makes the experience for any tourist that doesn’t know German or Italian really difficult. They accept card payments only for orders over 10 EUR, so be prepared to pay cash. This is the first store (and hopefully the only) in Munich that I’ve seen like this. Furthermore, they have tables only for their “restaurant”, normal orders of one cone are not ok to sit at a table, this forces all of the parents coming to enjoy some ice cream with their children to struggle in the street, as you can see in my picture. To resume everything, I would avoid this store easily as a tourist and maybe even as a local. The prices and the personnel are making it a very difficult choice for any person. Also, if I’d want a restaurant to eat something Italian, I’d probably choose L’Osteria that is located 10 meters over the road. Their personnel knows English and the service was really good. Also the pizza...
Read moreDefinately my favorite ice salon in Munich. They have amazing flavours that keep getting updated Ie mint basil but also have a plethora of clásics as well Ie spaghetti Eis and lots of fruit Gelato. There is always a queue even stretching around the corner which shows how great the ice-cream is. Just be aware if you buy a take away cone or cup it is take away because the seating is only for those who are "restaurant ordering". In winter it become the perfect cofee and cake place. This time around my husband ordered an Apollo sundae with 8 balls of ice cream and I had a vegan chocolate which is gorgeously rich and a latte machiatto. It's pricey but we always come back as soon as there is sun along with all the...
