The music is exactly my taste. Mind you, it is quite - no, strike that - very - no, strike that too - extremely loud. I hardly understood the guy taking my order, and it was impossible to hear order numbers being called out from the seating area. So you better stay close to the counter until you have your order iyour hands :-)
Wether you order take away or eat on premises does not make a dfference (only in taxes): you get your food in a brown paper bag with lots of napkins, which is really good idea.
You can help yourself to tomto sauce, mayonnaise and even more napkins. The latter may be a good thought.
The cheese burger I had tasted great, albeit the "reqular" fries, while yummy, were too much for me - well, it's an American diner, so what else to expect? :-)
Unfortunately I decided to have my burger in the diner, so I ate it while the deafening music kept on playing. I would recommend to take your food out, sit on one of the benches about 50m away, and from there you can really enjoy the music (doors being closed).
I felt a bit - no, strike that - really uncomfortable with the loud music, so I shoved the food in as fast as I could, and did not take much notice of the nicely designed interior that perfectly creates a typical diner atmosphere - excpet for the music, but I think I already mentioned that. Bring earplugs if you want to take a better look at the place, I think it may be worth it.
I left with stomach pain because I dug in too quickly - my bad. The burger and the fries were both excellent, though!
I would return for the taste and friendly staff, but will not because of the noise and price: 15€ for a burger with fries (no drink) is a bit overpriced in my opinion. If you go to nearby "Alex" you will pay about the same, but you get more relaxing surroundings, including table service and a drink.
If - no, strike that - When staff start suffering from hearing loss or tinnits, I will not blame them if they sue their...
Read moreHow many guys does it take to ruin a hamburger? They had a huge staff working 15 to 20 people and this was at a slow time around 11 before the lunch rush. The music was so loud that it felt like a bad date in a club where everyone is shouting at each other but still can't understand one another. It took 20 minutes to get my food which is not long if it was busy, but there was only 2 people ahead of me. The bun was soggy. The cheese was not good. The meat was ok and the bacon was the only thing they got right. The fries were so over seasoned that you could not eat them. I have eaten at five guys in America and they are a good place to go not my favorite but they are a quality place. When you pay nearly 10€ for a burger it should be way better than that. I was looking forward to eating here when I heard they were opening. I was so disappointed. These are things that can be fixed and I will try again in the future. I will change my review if they improve but for now your better off eating any other burger place. It amazes me that that many people working behind the counter could be so slow when I have seen smaller burger places with one guy working behind the grill like little pajas ( at sbahn westkreuz) handle much larger crowds and producing better...
Read moreIt’s Five Guys, they have a big name and standards already but I am still going to tell my experience eating here. It was early so there were only a few people there. Service was fine and I ordered a cheeseburger with a few toppings (these are free) and a small fries. Taste wise… the cheeseburger was great and full of real meat! It had two patties stacked together. We all know Five Guys has overpriced fries but it tastes good enough to get once in a while. You will always be full when you eat in Five Guys as the portion is always big. So price to portion ratio of the burger is amazing but a bit overpriced for the fries. Overall… it was great eating here, better than eating in the Five Guys that is in Marienplatz which is always packed and where you have to wait for quite a while...
