We recently had lunch at Gran Sasso, and it turned out to be one of the most pleasant dining experiences of our trip. Located in a charming, traditional-style building, the restaurant offers a warm atmosphere with wooden tables, classic decor, and carefully folded napkins adding a touch of elegance.

Food highlights: • Spaghetti Carbonara: Creamy, perfectly seasoned, and topped with plenty of crispy bacon. The sauce wasn’t too heavy, striking a nice balance of richness and flavor. • Pizza with arugula and parmesan: Fresh tomato sauce base, thin yet slightly crispy crust, generous handfuls of peppery arugula, and shaved parmesan – simple yet delicious. • Mixed grill platter: A must-try if you love hearty meals – tender grilled chicken, flavorful pork, sausage, and beef skewers served with steamed vegetables and a wedge of lemon. Everything was juicy and nicely seasoned.

The portion sizes were satisfying and ideal for sharing if you want to try a bit of everything. Service was friendly, quick, and attentive – we felt welcome from the moment we walked in.

Atmosphere: Gran Sasso blends Italian flavors with Bavarian coziness. Wooden interiors, warm lighting, and relaxed background chatter make it a great spot for both business lunches and casual dinners.

Overall: If you’re near Olympiapark or exploring Munich and want a place that’s authentic, comforting, and tasty, Gran Sasso is worth a visit. It’s the kind of restaurant where you can slow down, enjoy good food, and leave happy. We’d definitely...

A very enjoyable restaurant! The service is friendly and warm. Per my request I got the opportunity to practice my German, but the rest of the family was addressed in English. The kids loved the pizza salami (10 yrs old: "I give this a ten.") the spaghetti carbonara (5 yrs old: "I give this 3 stars." (Michelin that is.)) and pizza prosciutto (11 yrs old: "this is perfect."). Me and my wife enjoyed the home made pasta with filling. Prices are very reasonable and service was very fast with the restaurant at about 50 percent capacity. We had a very lovely meal and we warmly recommend this...

I've been there some time ago, but the memory of the visit haunted me, so I need to leave my opinion. I came to the restaurant alone and wanted to eat inside, but Italian waiter asked me few times to get my ordered spaghetti out (I guess because I was alone). It was very unpleasant. In the end I stayed and ate at the place, I was hungry. I have never been treated worse by a waiter. I was very surprised. I hope next time the stuff will be kinder to other people who will come alone to...

Echt Schade…
