Food is pretty good, actual legit Italian food, which is not to give for granted. We always liked to go here with my collegues, up until today. Last week one collegue of mine picked up the check and was coerced into leaving a tip in a very rude way, and after he left a tip, they made him feel bad about leaving a tip "too small". Today we went again, and it will be the last time for me for quite some time at least. I picked up the check and the waiter told me the amount. I said okay, I'll pay with card. He said "is that it?", and I said "yes please". Then he said "what about the tip?". At this point, the pressure is high and you are basically force to tip. So I gave a 6% tip, and then said that I'm not used to do that, at which he replied "better get used to it, we are not a canteen". I don't find the meaning in tipping for an absolutely normal, and pretty quick service. We are in Germany and waiters get a regular salary like everybody else, so I will tip only if I want to. In this case, I should have taken back my small tip for principle, in front of such nerves, but I was left astonished. In several times we went there, no complaints of these kind arose between me and my collegues, so maybe this is a new policy that was introduced, to try and force people to leave tips. In that...

Leider wird man hier über den Tisch gezogen und verarscht. Der Inhaber ist so unfreundlich im Umgang mit den Gästen, dass sich sein eigenes Personal in Grund und Boden zu schämen scheint. Schon als wir das Restaurant betreten haben, wirkte er eher genervt durch zusätzliche Gäste. Willkommen haben wir uns nicht gefühlt. Wir wollten ein Pastagericht als Vorspeise bestellen und hatten extra danach gefragt, ob es möglich sei, diese auch als Vorspeise zu bekommen (also als kleinere Portion). Bereits hier war der Inhaber unfreundlich und hat es nur abwertend bestätigt. Zusätzlich haben wir beide noch ein Fleisch- bzw. Fischgericht als Hauptgang bestellt. Als die Rechnung kam, wurden alle Gerichte zum vollen Preis abgerechnet, auch die Gerichte, die wir als "Vorspeise" wollten. Auf Nachfrage, war der Kellner selbst irritiert und hat den Inhaber (der zu Beginn die Bestellung aufgenommen hat) gefragt. Dieser hat uns nur auf unfreundlichste Art und Weise erklärt, dass man natürlich Pasta als Vorspeise bestellen könnte, es aber keine kleine Portion sei. Man könne ja theoretisch alles bestellen... Das hat uns gezeigt, dass ihm von Beginn an vollkommen klar war, dass wir keine volle Portion wollten (was wir ihm auch gesagt haben) und es war seine volle Intention, uns als Gast zu täuschen. Selbst sein Mitarbeiter war beschämt und hat nur peinlich auf den Boden geschaut. Wir haben letztendlich die volle Rechnung bezahlt und sind sofort gegangen. Wirklich schade, denn das Essen war eigentlich lecker. Zum Glück gibt es in Neuhausen noch viele andere sehr gute Italiener, wie zum Beispiel die Osteria Mugolone (Maillingerstraße 12) , denn zum Melograno werden wir nie wieder gehen (und das nachdem wir bereits öfter dort waren!) Great food, really - really - rude service. To the point where they borderline insult you. My friend politely asked for parmasen cheese (all of our pastas had been delivered and they didn't appear to be bringing any) and the waiter leans in very seriously and scolds him, telling him that it makes no sense for him to ask for something that will obviously be coming with the meal.
