If you are looking for a real Italian restaurant, with nice Italian people, Italian music and Italian culture, this is NOT the place for you. The service in restaurant L'Osteria is horrible. The waiters and waitresses are very rude. In this "Italian" restaurant, 98% of the staff DOES NOT speak Italian. I've been there three times because it's close to work but my last time was today. Every of the times I've been there, I've had to wait long to have my food served. Today, I was yelled at, because, after 20 minutes of waiting, I asked what was going on with my order. The waitress, who was serving us today is the worst waitress I've even been served by. I wanted to talk with the manager but he was too busy and quite frankly, also quite rude. If you are looking for a real Italian restaurant, with nice Italian people, Italian music and Italian culture, this is NOT the place for you. Both the owner and the staff of this restaurant are not Italian.
Read moreDefinitely NOT a kid friendly restaurant at all...with a terribly ill mannered staff!! We were there today with 3 kids for dinner, had not reserved just happened to stop by there. A fat staff member in white tshirt tells us since we havent reserved the only seating available is on the benches with high stools. We requested to him that we are with 2 little kids and it can be dangerous so can we then sit outside but he paid no heed and said outside also 7 ppl cannot be seated. From 8 pm to 10:30pm the entire time a table with 8 seating behind us was empty...the people who reserved it came and then decided to sit outside. There were around 7 ppl and they went out.I was shocked that while he refused us the seating outside, they were allowed!!!
All the while I was taking care of my kid that he doesnt slip but one second i wasnt looking and he slipped down the high stool and hit the ground with a big thud hurting his lip and back. Probably the whole restaurant heard and seen it yet not one staff member came and asked if we needed any help at all or if the kid is badly hurt...all the while the seats kept getting empty yet they did not let us shift to them. The restaurant was busy no doubt but basic manners and empathy in the staff is clearly absent. The service is slow and one has to wait minimum half an hour b4 any one turns up to take the order and then another half an hour b4 they ll turn up again. On leaving I went to complain to this guy in white tshirt and he starts talking back rudely and said, if my kid fell its my fault and not his. The table at the back even though was empty all the while, its still considered reserved irrelevant of whether the people were sitting outside!!!! Not once this person apologized or showed concern that a small kid got hurt.
A restaurant is successful not only because of their food but also majorly because of its staff members and their behaviour towards the customers....with such a rude behaviour, I would never return to it again and neither recommend my friends or...
Read moreThis evening my family and I went to celebrate my mother's 51st birthday at your restaurant Leopoldstraße. We had booked a table beforehand at 18:00 and upon arrival, our table was not ready and we had to wait a further 15 minutes.
When offered drinks by the manager, my sister asked him what drinks were on the menu, and he responded in a very patrionising way. "Have you never been here before?" with a smirk on his face. This comment was totally unnecessary and was not funny.
We were then given a table at the back of the restaurant and after another 30 minute wait, a waitress came and took our order. At this point, we were in the restaurant for nearly an hour without any food.
Another 20 minutes later, we were then given our starter. Within this time, other customers arrived at the restaurant, had their orders taken, and already had food and drink, while we were still waiting for ours.
30 minutes after that, there was still no sign of our main dish, while other customers who had come in afterwards were enjoying theirs.
It is important to note that all the customers that had already received their food were of caucasian decent. We, from an ethnic background, were in the minority and felt totally neglected and sensed that there was discrimination in the air, otherwise why did we not recieve our food earlier?
We were very disappointed, and had tried to express our dissatisfaction to another waiter, as we were completely ignored by our original one. Everyone who works at L'Osteria represents the restaurant, so saying "I am not your waiter, I can't help you anymore" is simply not acceptable. No one showed any empathy or concern to the lack of service we received.
If you are a person of colour and want to come to this restaurant, be prepared to wait and have other people around you enjoy their food, while you...
