Lavy Café — Restaurant in Munich

A very stylish, minimally designed café with excellent matcha and cakes. The matcha is high quality and delicious, and the prices are in line with what you’d expect in Munich—though there’s a surcharge for milk alternatives like coconut, which is becoming rare these days. Portions are generous in return. The cakes are tasty, though a little on the dry side.

On weekdays, it’s a very cozy spot to sit for longer, even to work, thanks to the good Wi-Fi. There are also three small tables outside where you can enjoy the sun.

The staff is very friendly, but still seem a bit inexperienced & slow—sometimes there’s no one at the counter, which led to a few customers leaving without ordering.

Came here for an afternoon coffee and had a flat white. Including my partners matcha coconut the total was 10.90 so quite expensive. It's a p cute place to sit and relax for a while and the staff was friendly. The coffee was crafted v well and had a super smooth milk foam but the taste of the coffee itself was a lil plain. The matcha coconut was disappointing though. The matcha cream was a p solid ball that didn't rly blend with the drink. Das Café ist ohne Frage sehr modern und schön eingerichtet, die Drinks sehen optisch super aus. Leider hört es für mich da auch schon auf. Für wirklich alles wird ein Aufpreis verlangt – Eist-Variante, Milch-Alternative und sogar, wenn man den Matcha süßen lassen möchte. Auf meine Frage danach wirkte das Personal erstmal überfordert, am Ende gab es Vanillesirup (natürlich gegen Aufpreis). Trotz des Sirups war mein Iced Matcha kaum süß. Dazu kommt, dass die Getränke wirklich sehr klein sind – und ja, der Matcha ist gut, aber bei der großen Konkurrenz in München für mich nicht den Preis wert. Ich weiß, dass sie auf die Qualität des Matchas pochen, aber mein Gesamterlebnis ist enttäuschend und deswegen ist der Preis überhaupt nicht gerechtfertigt.

Was mir auch sehr negativ in Erinnerung geblieben ist: Vor ein paar Monaten hieß es hier ernsthaft, es gäbe keine Kundentoilette. Es hing sogar ein Schild, dass die Toilette nur für Mitarbeiter sei. Mir wurde der Zugang einmal verweigert, ein anderes Mal bekam ich nur nach mehrmaligem Nachfragen einen Schlüssel „ausnahmsweise“. Ich habe auch mitbekommen, wie anderen Gästen der Zutritt verweigert wurde. Mittlerweile darf man wohl auf die Toilette (es wird sich nicht mehr in den Bewertungen darüber beschwert)– aber der erste Eindruck sitzt bei mir leider fest.

Den Schokocrepe-Kuchen habe ich auch probiert, leider recht geschmacklos. Das Banh mi war gut. Das Personal war eher desinteressiert bis minimal höflich. Insgesamt sehr schade, weil ich mich auf die Neueröffnung gefreut hatte – aber ich werde wohl nicht mehr hingehen. Diese Bewertung ergibt sich durch drei...
