Decent Coffee Shop in Münchner Freiheit

Location: It is on Leopoldstraße, next to the exit of U-Bahn station. You can find street parking lots as well. (5)

Environment: it has inside and outside areas. You could have morning sun if you sit outside, it has a small room inside and windows sits next to the bar. But it has NO toilet. You can use the one in the U-bahn station.(4)

Food: A friend who is a coffee expect says their coffee machine is the Rolls-Royce in coffee machines, so I am impressed. Meanwhile they offer coffee lessons, it seems to me they know what they are doing. Unfortunately they don’t have croissant, so I don’t go there often. (5)

Service: all stuffs speak English and German and they are friendly, supportive and kind. They offer cafe trainings too. (5)

Price: 3.9 euro for a cappuccino, I think it is good price in Schwabing area. If you go often, you can ask for a card, collect 10 coffees you would get one for free. (5)

Great Specialty Coffee shop. By the time I got there, they were out of their Pour-Over Coffee beans so I had an espresso made from their Light Roast Ethiopian (a mix of heirloom varieties according to them). This shot had bright acidity with sharp citrus notes with a hint of floral undertones. A clean, balanced espresso. I also tried their house blend of lightly roasted Ethiopian and Brazilian beans. This also had bright citrusy acidity but notes of chocolate to round out the finish. I preferred the Ethiopian but both were well balanced shots. Went to buy whole coffee beans at the caffe and received good suggestion about the beans that would suit my taste. The whole process took 2 minutes. However, I am giving 2 stars for the service as the attendant at the cash desk cheekily added 10% tip (trinkgeld) without my consent. Unfortunately, I realized it after a while that I have been charged more. A voluntary tip when deserved is acceptable, but not the way attendant resorted to today.
