Levante - Mezze Bar & Restaurant (mediterrane, orientalische Küche) - Schwabing — Restaurant in Munich

Bad and overpriced food in a rather uncomfortable and very noisy atmosphere One of these overhyped restaurants that are rather typical of Munich... Despite having reserved a table, we had to wait for 15 minutes, no big deal. However, it took about 10 minutes before it occured to the waiter to offer us a drink at the bar while we waited. We were then brought to our table for two. The tables are very very close to each other. No problem with privacy though, as the level of noise is so deafening that you can only talk to each other by shouting (and I mean SHOUTING) across the table. We stopped speaking altogether after ca. 30 minutes since we were both hoarse. We had ordered starters, among them Falafel, and two main dishes. The Falafel were like small bricks, very hard and compressed, not fluffy and crunchy, and not very well seasoned. I was full after three of them. After, we had the Patlican (the whole composition was completely uninspired) and the chicken (boring)....

Christina was our server and her friend runs this place. We didn’t know What to order and Christina volunteered to order appetizers and main courses for our table of six to share.

The lighting and ambiance was 10/10! The server was 10/10! The restaurant portions were 10/10! The presentation was 10/10! The taste was 10/10! The wine was a 10/10! The mixed drinks were 10/10!

The litmus test to our party was “would we come back again” and the answer was a resounding YES!!

We are foodies and this place killed it!! Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a change of cuisine while in Berlin for Octoberfest. Love this place and we believe that we could not have had a better experience without Christina. She made the meal PERFECT!

We really enjoyed our dinner at Levante. We came on a busy Thursday night and we didn’t have a reservation but the staff was extremely nice and willing to offer us a table, even if it took some time to be ready. We were given free champagne to pass the waiting time. Once seated, the staff remained extraordinary friendly. Food was great, just bear in mind that the type of kitchen does not fit everyone‘s taste. Display of the food was great and we really enjoyed trying new flavors. The place can be quite busy and extremely noisy. It was difficult to understand each other at some points but overall it was totally bearable.

Levante seems to be very popular and a lot of tables are usually taken. That already speaks for itself! Levante is for sure a nice place to grab dinner and enjoy some drinks - definitely...
