Very reluctantly I am giving two stars. For the next couple months, I'll take a break from Natraj and try the other Indian restaurants in Munich. For the most part, Natraj was my favorite restaurant in Munich, period. However, their service become 'difficult' as of late, with the Valentine's Day service a disaster, despite not even being full while we were there. The thing I enjoyed about them was how even when they were stressed, the service was awesome through all the chaos behind the counter. It added charm and the presentation was just fun and friendly, even when they were stressed to get through the service. Then they'd often come and sit and chit chat- always fun to be there and have great food. I've brought numerous friends by, in fact, whom all have been impressed. Such unique charm is lacking in Germany, to be honest. However, the service quality has dropped off in the last couple months, with Valentine's Day being particularly bad. First, we were told that we can only order from the confusing Valentine's Day menu, but then we saw most of the tables around us ordering from the normal menus, which would have been preferable. Not to mention, a much better value. So we compromised on the dishes using this menu, but the food wasn't terrible, just not our choice and extra annoying because table after table were getting regular menus and dishes. Oh, and we never got the prosecco that was listed on the menu, but it was so confusing (and the couple behind us also had issues with it) that we weren't sure. At least one couple also got up and just stormed out, visibly upset about something, with one from the staff chasing after them. Our food then comes out, with which we ordered naan bread. In Indian cuisine, the bread is to be eaten WITH the food. It is not a dessert. The bread we ordered never came out. I asked numerous more times and the waiter appeared to not care at all (I've not seen him before, in fact). I asked other waiters and still waited. Nearly 15 minutes after the food is served, it comes out and now the food is cool. Not to mention, my partner's dish was supposed to come with a tomato sauce and they forgot and brought it out when she was half-done with her chicken dish, which she thought was dry because there was no sauce. Then after a while, the said waiter began ignoring us again and at least one other table was visibly upset also and making faces towards us to acknowledge that they had some sort of situation, too, and we weren't alone. It became a bit laughable and bizarre in a way. I reiterate: the food was still ok, but what happened this night is still baffling to me and the service, unfortunately, is losing that charm I really enjoyed. Not to mention it was just not good this past visit- enough that we decided to take a break from them for a few months and try others. It's tough, since we often go to the movies across the street after Natraj, but we're pretty disappointed that maybe we lost the unique charm of a really good restaurant that we enjoyed going to. If we go back and things turn around, I'll update, but it won't be for...
Read moreThere was not an option to give starless😡. I am attaching the bill and orders details you can go through but as an Indian. I am really disappointed. The rice and all vegetables were stale. On asking about the gross smell in vegetable waiter clarified its almond paste we used in vegetables. Who else believes that vegetables made in almond paste🤣. I would advice to eat croissants or be hungry rather than visiting this restaurant. I really feel shame when my german friends ask about Indian food and they give negative feedback after having Indian food from such restaurants.. I would also like to add some points which restaurant really need to look upon.
Natraj was a spontaneous pick just by checking on google maps what is nearest. I must say this place just lived far upto my expectations. The food is just mouth watering. We ordered shahi paneer, some tawa chicken sizzler dish(recommended by the person who came for taking the order), garlic naan and mango and sweet lassi. Each and every dish was just super delicious. My long lasting craving of having an amazing and a different paneer dish was finally fulfilled. The paneer was very soft and the gravy was medium to almost zero spicy but had a unique flavour. The garlin naans were also super soft and filled with good amount of garlic. Also, my friends who ordered the chicken dish were really happy with their dish. The mango lassi is tasty as well. We all ate lot more than our appetite and still wanted to continue eating it was that delicious . All in all one of the finest Indian restaurant and highly recommend. The staff is also very friendly and attentive. Ambience is also nice cozy and beautiful with light hindi music going on. Loved the place. Quantity was...
