Despite 3 stars, I might stay there again. Updates to other reviews: Construction was completed as of May / June 2017. And there is a grocery store a short distance away in the first lower level of the train station - across from McDonalds. The very nice desk employees informed us of its location. We checked in after our flight from the USA. Their lone elevator was broken so we had to climb 4 flights with our luggage. There is no A/C in this hotel. I paid extra for a 'courtyard' side to be more quiet. It was 85 degrees and luckily for us, the sun is on the noisy street side. However, since we did not have sun, we were told that there was not a fan available for our room. After insisting, nicely, that we were going to be there for four days, that compared to our bill, a fan would be inexpensive; we got a fan for our room. The 'courtyard' is mostly a parking lot, where the employees go to smoke. Even on the 4th floor, the smoke sometimes came in the room. There is a bright light on the building across the way that turns on and off all night. That said, the room was typical European (small by US standards), the room and bathroom were clean, the bed comfortable. There is a fridge and a coffee / tea pot. The big plus is that it is a block and a half from the train station, which lowers the stress level after a long day of travel. Walking to old town takes about 15 minutes which was fine for us. Convenient and moderately priced makes this a qualified winner. We returned at the end of our trip for one night only to find the Internet broken. When I groaned, the desk clerk upgraded us to a nearby Vi Vadi hotel at no extra charge, which was extremely...
Read moreWorst Experience!!! ||1) We booked a room with kitchenette but they offered us a room without kitchenette facility. When we told them we really need kitchenette then -|2) They gave us the keys to a room where some guests had already checked in. It was very embarrassing for us to enter a room which was already assigned to other guests. We politely informed them about their mistake but they didn’t even acknowledge initially (because other guests were there at the check in counter) that the room was already taken and kept saying it’s impossible because they were not able to find the information about other guests staying in the room.|(Other guests at the reception were shocked and laughing at this but the receptionists never seemed to care as if it’s very normal for them or as if I am lying). They asked us to wait further and come in the queue again.||3) Later they found other guest information and offered us another room but this room was very very small and completely different than what we had booked.||4) They kept on saying that the room type we booked is not available from the beginning. After all this, when we asked for refund, they said the room is available and they behaved very rudely and said they will not refund at any cost.||We gracefully decided to leave that place immediately and booked our stay at Courtyard by Marriott in the same location. We lost our approx 200 Euro which they didn’t refund.|We booked through AirBnB and seems like they had escalated to the property management but nothing...
Read moreWe were a married couple relocating to Munich for my work, and we didn't know anyone or know the language (we still don't, but we're working on it.) We chose the hotel because it was pet-friendly, since we're relocating with our adopted cats. Vi Vadi supported us during a very hard time in our life: they printed all the forms we needed to fill in, and they scanned them back in and emailed them to us. They hailed cabs for us so that we could do our housing search and eventually move into an apartment we had found. One of the workers even introduced us to her personal friends who were aware of an upcoming apartment rental opportunity. They received mail for us and dealt with us constantly asking them if we had mail that day (it was all official stuff relating to our relocation.) They dealt with us constantly extending our stay as we tried to navigate the housing market. The internet was strong and I was able to do my professional work from the hotel at the desk in the room. The bed was comfortable and the room was very spacious, clean, and well-designed. There is a place to put bikes behind the building. I would recommend anyone needing a place to stay while relocating into the country consider the Vi Vadi Hotel, which is a great option with kind and supportive people. They were there for us during a vulnerable time in our lives when we had a lot of needs and not a lot of ways...
