Horrible experience. Bad quality of the ingredients, especially the fish. Tastless AND TOXIC food sold for a high price. I GOT SICK, BE CAREFUL!
After forgettable starters, we got the main curses. The fried bacalao (reccomended by the weitress) was hard and chewy, uneatable, served with unsalted potatoes. My girlfriend got la perça, that only tasted like lemon, probably to cover the absence of teste of the fish, probly frozen, like all the rest. After complaining, the waitress said I just had different tastes, and that Brasilians love their food. But, as I said, the taste wasn't the problem because it DIDN'T TASTE AT ALL!! At the start, we would have liked to try the desserts, but, after experiencing all this, we didn't even dare to try, considering we already had to pay 35€ each even if we left most of our food there. I won't come back. Sad because Portuguese restaurants are not so common, we were curios. AVOID IT IF YOU CAN, YOU ARE STILL IN TIME!
P.S.: tonight I couldn't sleep from the stomach pain I had. So I suppose, the "taste" was really not the problem here. It's the quality of the food, the way it is stored and cooked, that made it bad. The fish was bad, rotten, I can...
Read moreAvoid!!! This is a critique given by a Portuguese about a Portuguese restaurant.
The food is tasteless and far from making justice to the wonderful Portuguese cuisine, and presentation is just careless. I can’t describe enough all the wrong emotions I felt in that place, so disappointed.
The restaurant is not well taken care, looks and feels more like a community center. The service, well… don’t expect much. Really !!!
Nothing in this restaurant takes me back home, and that should say enough.
If you don’t know Portuguese food and are curious to try, please don’t go here, this place ruins all the good in Portuguese food, I feel so ashamed.
In Munich I’ll recommend the restaurant After Church instead, or go to Portugal (not the...
Read moreIt's a family-owned restaurant so adjusting expectations about some "givens" is advised. Meaning no fancy website, no designer-grade menu, no amazing playlist playing in the background and just some basic level of (friendly) service. Still, it's the best Portugal food in Munich (the francesinha is great as is all the codfish!). No weird fanciness because you won't find that in Portugal except in tourist-trap kind of places (or unless you go where the locals go). Amazing assortment of mains, sometimes also dessert (try the pudding or the chocolate mousse, especially). Avoid the pizzas and other supposedly talian stuff, they should be taken off the menu. There's Super Bock and Sagres, often on the tap, always...
