This is your Marriott hotel is you like cold water showers! We have stayed here before without issues but this me was a disaster as we experienced one problem after another so it will be last time we stay here especially since there is a new residence inn a couple of miles away. So rather than do the pros and cons as I typically with hotel stays I will simply list the problems we experienced. No hot water three days running. Problem with the city per the manager which made no sense to us. Lukewarm water at 5:30 was cold by 8:30am. Terrible up and down internet and even when working it was5 mbps up and 4 mbps down. Constant relogging in required several times a day. Found our room half cleaned one day and the balcony door left open. Crew must have left and forgotten to return. Coffee maker stopped working as did the safe. Coffee make replaced right away but the safe issue could not be resolved until the next day. Hope in the drywall because of a missing door stop to prevent the door when opening to hit the wall. Carpet that peeled up and the best the staff could do is put down tape. We won't be back.

After check in, we went up to the room and tried to connect our phones to the smart TV, as there were instructions on the screen how to do so. After maybe 15 minutes we gave up, and left for the day to tour. It was rainy so we came back to the hotel after dinner. Entering our room, the AC still hadn't cooled it down so we wanted to take showers. Unfortunately, there was no body wash left in the canister. When we tried to call down to the lobby for service we found out the phone doesn't work. At reception they told us phones were down and the smart TV instructions no longer worked. It was a rainy evening and so we decided to try to watch some English channels on the cable TV. Unfortunately only 3 news channels worked the other English channels were scrambled. See picture. This hotel left a lot to be desired in comparison to a different residence inn we stayed at maybe 5 minutes away. The staff tried to make up for the hotels lacking however, by offering free drinks and parking. But it was not an up to standard stay. We felt like we were in the abandoned area of the connecting hotels.

We stayed at this hotel due to its location and as it had breakfast included. The breakfast was average at best. Usually most places will at least have decent eggs, but these were tougher and tougher to eat each day. The room we stayed in was a decent size, but just looked worn out. Scratches all over the floor, a chunk missing from the corner of the closet door, and the shower had mold in the corners. The shower door seal was coming off and had water all over the floor each time we showered. However, the most disturbing part was having the do not disturb sign out and having someone from the hotel still opening your door and entering your room. I was in the shower and my wife heard someone opening the door apparently he had the wrong room for a maintenance issue. Not sure what the purpose of a do not disturb sign is if its not honored.

This was my first time to Munich so I didn't know the city well. I read positive reviews on this property and I'm glad I stayed here. The location was very convenient as it was just 2 blocks to the train station (Munchen Ost) and there is a tram that passes by literally right in front of the hotel.

I was coming with my wife and 3 kids so it was essential that I get a connecting room. The rooms that I got (5007 and 5009) were very spacious and connecting. They both had a king size bed and also a sofa bed in each room. My kids said the sofa bed was very comfortable. The rooms were modern and very quiet. Even though we were on the front of the building facing the street it was very quiet. It was very very hot during my stay and I can honestly say the GREAT and strong Air conditioning really was wonderful. Sometimes at some hotels the AC doesn't get too cold but the AC worked great here.

The lobby area is nice with lots of room to sit and there is also a kids play room if you have young kids. Our 3 year old daughter really enjoyed it. My older kids loved the outdoor ping pong table. The breakfast in the morning was good and had a lot of variety.

I definitely recommend the hotel. The front desk staff were mostly friendly. The male (with glasses) that worked the late afternoon/evening shift was especially always friendly. I forget his name but he was the friendliest that always had a smile on his face (something that is rare for Germans in the hospitality industry) sadly.

If you are on the fence on booking this don't hesitate. It's not in the heart of all the action but most things are a quick 10...

We have been staying at this Residence Inn for about five years, the latest being last week for Oktoberfest.

Breakfast: The breakfast offering has been consistently very good throughout the years. They offer a large number of hot and cold breakfast options.

Rooms: Rooms are a decent size, North American standard. However, they are showing wear and tear and need a refresher. Air conditioning (basically acts as a fan) is non-existent which is normal for many European hotels. You can open the windows but if you have a room at the front or side of the hotel, you will hear traffic noise and the nearby tram. Bring ear plugs if you can’t sleep through noise. Kitchenette is convenient if you want to cook (fully stocked) or warm up meals. We just used the fridge for our beverages.

Service: Rooms are cleaned every three days unless you request it more often. We preferred it when the Residence Inn had a dedicated front desk, but since Covid they now share the front desk with the Courtyard Hotel which is attached to the Residence Inn. It feels like the staff is spread thin within the two establishments because service is spotty. Use the Bonvoy app to communicate (text) with the front desk. It’s more effective than calling because at times they do not answer.

Location: The hotel is close to trains, busses, and trams so you can get around easily. However, there is not much in the neighbourhood such as...

I was looking forward to spend my holiday at Munich in Residence Inn by Mariott. Checking in was smooth and staff was friendly. I have received a room on the second floor. The corridor's carpet was dirty and the odour was very unpleasant. Our room was nice, it's a bit thight with the sofa bed open, however otherwise comfortable. The amenities are good, kitchenette is well equipped, even has a dishwasher. The washoroom was nice and clean, unfortunately the same can not be said for the room. The floor was disgusting and the pillows were dirty with hair and mascara smudges. I have requested for a change of bedding, which I had to wait for 2-3 hours late into the evening, while my kids couldn't go to bed. Finally I get the new bedding by an unfriendly housekeeper, but it's only a single set, had to wait another 30 minutes for another one. In the morning the breakfast was a chaos. There is no cutlery, napkins and even had to wait 15 minutes for water. The buffet was not refilled at a good pace and it was very messy. The water fountain at the reception had dirty glasses placed as clean. I picked up a glass, it had red lipstick on it. In the morning I requested for a cleaning. When I returned to my room at night the floors were still not cleaned. Decided to check out and continue my holiday in another hotel. Ruth at the reception desk was really helpful in the checkout process, otherwise I had an...
