We were coming as a family (2 adults and 1 baby) and days before coming to the hotel we asked for a late check-out until 4pm as I had to work the whole day and it would've been a lot of hassle for my wife if she had to be outside with a baby. This request was kindly confirmed by one of the staffs over the phone and during check-in this was confirmed once again by the front desk staff.
On the day of check-out, as mentioned above I was in my office for the whole day and my wife together with our baby went for a walk. Many of the stuff were left in the room knowing that we would still have access to the room.
However, upon returning to the room all the things were already gone and the room has been prepared for check out. Foods that we have prepared for our baby and stored in the fridge were thrown away including her toys. We were naturally infuriated by this, but what we found disturbing was the fact that the staffs (both reception and cleaning staffs) were too busy putting blame on each other and NO ONE bothered to at least step up and offer any help to feed our baby.
We found this deeply unprofessional, very much lacking in hospitality, and borderline inhumane.
It's obviously disappointing to lose our things but we can always buy them again. What we can't forgive nor forget was how the hotel staff mistreated my family especially our baby. Offering a couple of fresh fruits, breads, or veggies would've gone a long way and much more appreciated than apologies. But unfortunately, this never happened.
At the end, we left the hotel with a sour taste and I personally think it is a real shame, because otherwise it could've been a really pleasant stay for our family.
P.S. we stayed 1 night from 19th to 20th October and as of this date all services incl. breakfast are organized by...
Read moreThis hotel feels like Marriott's forgotten middle child. The reception and management are handle by another sister hotel nearby (which is also another hotel under Marriott group). But don't expect the staff there to show the same level of professionalism as the usual Marriott staff.
Throughout my 2 weeks stay at Residence Inn, I have experienced someone barged in my room without knocking. The staff later told me it was an electrical engineer who mistakenly entered the wrong room. The fact that they would give a third party a master keycard without supervising them is quite worrisome in the first place. It was lucky that I was in the room when it happened. Who knows if it was even intentional.
For room service such as food, you have to go to the nearby sister hotel as well. However, since they don't have a kitchen, all of their food are simply "re-heated". I have had food poisoning 2 times during my stay and both times I had food there the night before, so honestly I would strongly advise against eating any food from there. Plus, I saw the reception staff handling cocktail garnish without washing their hands first, so hygiene wise it's already very questionable.
Other things to note: Gym is open 24/7, breakfast doesn't have a lot of variety but it gets the job done. The hotel is slightly out of town but the room has...
