We decided to try this Italian restaurant, we try every Italian restaurant in every country we stay. Without reservation we could seat at 14:30 but we have to leave the table at 16:00. The service was correct and the risotto was delicious. At 15:40 we ordered coffee / desserts and at 15:50 the bill. Almost 140€ - 4 pax and almost 5€ tips. 145€ in total. The waitress, who had been joking all the lunch, changed. His face changed when he saw the tips. The jokes changed and the service changed for the last 10 minutes. All the tables had sweets with the coffee or before that. We didn't want the sweets but was weird to see every single table with and us without. So I asked for it just to see his reaction before the tips. I still can not believe it. First of all he told me: the sweets are expired, but se saw plenty of sweets over the table. He left the sweets and said , you can eat all of them in bad mode, but 30 seconds later he retired them from the table so we could take one for all of us. Meanwhile the others table still have them. We didn't want the sweets but was ugly the treatment received after the bill. Then we started talking with the waitress and he said he was a joke but we are not stupid and I speak Italian... so I understood everything. The problem was the tips. Change your treatment to the customer 2 minutes before they leave for a couple of sweets... ridicolous. Well esa for the tip. Maybe because we are tourist I do not know. First he said was joking, then he said because we are not childrens , but neither in the others tables, and then he said because we have to leave at 16:00. Sorry? You had had 20 minutes to do it. I would give them 5 stars just if he gave us the sweets because the lunch was very good. But for 50 cents or 1€ of the sweets and of course because of how did you treat us... I would give you 1 stars, for me the details make the difference. The food was good but the most important is the service, and the last 10 minutes were horrible, arguing in the restaurant in front of customers, we just wanted to get out of there.

Read moreMade reservations months in advance to dine tonight at this restaurant even though it is a bit away from the main city and a $28 euro taxi each way. Was “greeted” by an older bald man wearing glasses in a white shirt who barely spoke and appeared irritated we were there. We told him we had reservations - he grumped away without telling us to wait or follow him. He came back and then verified our reservation and sat us. Another man brought us water and we were hopeful he would be our server. Sadly it was not to be. The grumpy old man came back after waiting on 2 tables of Germans who came in after us. My husband inquired about bourbon he saw on the way in and the old man told him only wine was served. Our son, who speaks fluent German, asked and the server again walked off from us throwing his hand in the air and returning with the bourbon list. I asked if they had sprite or 7-up and the server said look on the back of your menu. He then left and continued to wait on all of his other tables. We left cash for the water and left. My advice if you are American or speak English- even with a fluent German speaker avoid this restaurant. It cost us a taxi fare and several hours of our life for nothing. BTW- the menu was pretty limited as well- steak and calamari as the only seconds listed. I will not support rudeness. This man clearly does not...

Hits (Recommended in general)
Overall experience was good with the friendly staff and I enjoyed the ambience. In addition,
The bruschetta fella casa was nice and the tomatoes were juicy and bread was crunchy. However one piece of bread was black from being over toasted and it was served nonetheless (Restaurant, please have some quality check before serving the dish. Potential diners, please see picture attached to determine if individual diner can accept this degree of done-ness for bread, I hope if you were to order this dish, you will not get my kind of charred bread)
Risotto Ai Gamberi e Asparagi was really good (Highly recommended).
Misses (Not recommended)
The dish of octopus (second dish on a special menu, not captured) was not to my personal liking, hence a miss to me. It was abit elastic and seem like some Asian cuttlefish snack. I have to say it was interesting in texture. But for €19, it didn’t work for me.
The tiramisu was quite disappointing. No taste of Baileys and the pistachio cream was on the sweeter side with hardly any Pistachio taste. For €12, it was not worth it and was really a strong miss, for me.
The actual rating was a 3.5 but I rounded it up to 4. A good restaurant which one can visit and choose the right dishes and your experience shall...
