Ruffini — Restaurant in Munich

Went to the Cafe Ruffini for breakfast. I have heard before it is supposed to be quite posh, but wanted to find it out on my own. Spent some time by be entrance waiting to be seated. None of the stuff bothered to either show me to a table or tell me I can just go ahead and grab a seat. Me and my boyfriend ordered two different breakfast meals, and got them good 10 minutes apart, so I was still waiting for mine when he had already finished his. For a most regular croissant, two small eggs and two coffees, I was asked to pay 16 euros. Gave the waiter a 20 and he hasn't even attempted to give me the change. All in all, I would NOT recommend you to go to this place unless a) you're not hungry or b) you have too much money lying around. I'm happy to got to try out this famous place, but I am certainly not going back there ever again. There's plenty of much friendlier and cheaper places around that you won't...

Ich wohne ganz in der Nähe und würde prinzipiell sehr gerne öfter das Ruffini besuchen, da es vom Ambiente ein sehr angenehmer Laden und die Terrasse im Sommer herrlich ist. Aber… Der Service, die Preise und die Speisen (besser gesagt; die Kombination dieser drei Teile) sind für mich ein ziemliches no-go.

Ich habe bis jetzt dort gefrühstückt, Mittag gegessen und Nachmittags Kaffee getrunken. Jedes mal verspreche ich mir selber nicht mehr hinzugehen und gebe dem Ruffini doch alle paar Wochen-Monate wieder eine Chance; werde aber ein ums andere mal enttäuscht. Klar, das Personal ist nicht professionell oder besser gesagt gelerntes Gastro-Personal. Wäre nicht weiter schlimm, wenn die Preise zu dem häufig unfreundlichen und unprofessionellen Service und der Qualität der Speisen/Getränke passen würden. Beispiel: für einen Espresso und Cappuccino 6.- Zahl ich gerne, wenn die Sachen dann eine Top Qualität haben. Aber der Cappuccino ist einfach nur ein Haufen Schaum auf einem Espresso in einer großen Tasse. Mittags ein Teller Pasta schlägt um die 9.- ein. Für München schon ein ordentlicher Preis, aber nicht für die meist sehr mittelmäßige Qualität. Auch das eher lieblose Frühstück ist meiner Ansicht nach total überteuert.

Mir geht es einfach völlig gegen den Strich, dass die Leistung, die man bekommt und die wirklich hohen Preise die man dafür zahlen muss einfach gar nicht zu der alternativen Gesellschafter-Form (plus Punkt!) und dem unkonventionellen Flairs (plus Punkt!) passen.

Verstehe auch nicht, dass z. B. beim Kaffee die Mitarbeiter an der Theke nicht selber einen höheren Anspruch haben und lernen, wie man dies angemessen zubereitet (Crema etc.)

Das Brot und die Kuchen sind super, auch teuer. Aber geschmacklich und qualitativ wirklich gut!

Wie schon geschrieben. Sehr schade, dass das Ruffini bezüglich Preis/Leistung/Service meiner Meinung nach nicht empfehlenswert ist. Gut möglich, dass die Preise auf die weitläufige Nachbarschaft abgestimmt ist (Nymphenburg etc.). Gut laufen tut das Café offensichtlich. Vielleicht hat die Gesellschaft es auch deshalb nicht mehr nötig die Service/Qualitäts-Schraube...

A cozy place perfect for a sweet treat. Passed by one time and knew I had to stop. I tried the Himbeertorte and was great. The Apfel Walnuss cake is a must, very soft and with the right amount of sweetness. I bought a 100g Amarettini bag for 3.5€ and they’re really nice. Also, the attention was good and the options wide. They sell pieces and full cakes too. Their restaurant is next door and at the corner you’ll find the mini store that only has sweets and breads for you to stop by and buy. The prices are okay and you get fair portions. I’m definitely coming back to try...
